3. Core Elective
Student 1
Core
๏ฝ Two types of rotation
โฆ Core, Electives
๏ฝ Two semesters
Student 2
โฆ Winter, summer
4. ๏ฝ Studied evaluations from a snapshot of the
2010 and 2011 academic year
โฆ At 2 hospitals
Factors
Number of
Hospitals Block Rotation
Evaluations
7. Conclusion : The value of our study was to show none of
the factors we studied have any bearing on delay time.
Potential explanations :
๏ฝ Psychological behavior difficult to capture
๏ฝ Difficulty to map behavior in variables
Future recommendations :
๏ฝ Move on to other factors
โฆ Doctorโs experience

Statistical unit : Evaluation Type of study : Cross-sectional, Observational Population : Evaluations of students from July 2010 to June 2011 at 2 hospitalsSampling scheme : random sample
What we found was delay is not affected by The block But it is minorly affect by The hospital The rotationWhich means the delay on average is for slightly lower at one hospital compared to the other and for core rotations rather than elective rotationsIntuitively according to the client, we thought that the more work a doctor had the more delayed he would be BUTWhen we looked at the effect of the number of evlauations, which is a proxy for workload, on delay and we found that it has hardly any effect on explaining delayFurthermore when we looked at all the factors and their effect together on delay in evaluation, we found that these factors do not reasonably account for delay
