3. CUTTING AND FILLING
Cutting:-
A cutting is where soil or rock material from a
relative rise (elevated landscape) to an earlier section of the
route is cut out to make way for a further section of the route.
Filling:-
A quantity of material that fills or is used to fill to
ground level using materials
6. SUBGRADE (MURRUM LAYER)
In transport engineering, subgrade is the native material
underneath a constructed road, pavement or railway track. It is
also called formation level.
Subgrade thickness is 300mm
7. Granular Sub-base (GSB)
Sub-base is the layer of aggregate material laid on the
subgrade, on which the base course layer is located. ...
Unbound granular materials are usually crushed stone are use.
The mixed aggregate of 0 to 40mm are use.
8. DRY LEAN CONCRETE (DLC)
Dry Lean Concrete (DLC) is an important part of modern rigid
pavement. It is a plain concrete with a large ratio of aggregate to
cement than conventional concrete and generally used as a
base/sub base of rigid pavement.
DLC is generally manufactured with ordinary Portland cement
(OPC)
10. PAVEMENT QUALITY CONCRETE (PQC)
Pavement quality concrete is that concrete which is used mostly
for highway and road construction and it differs from normal
conventional concrete by using 32 mm size aggregate.
This type of concrete requires little more cement content as
compared to that of normal concrete and is mostly designed for
M45 or M50 grade of concrete.
It is suitable for heavy traffic volume and mostly for
construction of National Highway.
