This story is about two friends who got into an argument while walking in a forest. One friend hit the other, who wrote in the sand that his best friend had hit him. They continued walking and came upon an oasis, where the friend who was hit got stuck in mud and began drowning. However, his friend saved him from drowning. The friend who was saved then carved into a stone that his best friend had saved his life. When asked why he wrote in the sand but carved in stone, he explained that hurts should be written in sand to be blown away by forgiveness, but good deeds should be carved in stone to last forever.
