1. About Workshop:
Cloud Computing is the current era of IT and innovations in
IT. As Cloud Computing matures, more and more Indian
businesses – small and large alike – are jumping on the
cloud bandwagon. Considering the numerous benefits of
the cloud model like cost flexibility, business scalability and
ecosystem connectivity, leading companies across
verticals are rapidly adopting cloud-based strategies.
The significance of Cloud Computing and related solutions
is increasing at an exponential rate. At C-DAC we also
acknowledge the demand for Cloud Solutions by both
Government as well as Private Organizations. The primary
focus of Research and Development activities are
development of Open Source Cloud Middleware,
Virtualization and Management tools, providing an end to
end security framework for Cloud, achieving
Interoperability among various cloud service providers.
Also a rigorous and continual research on proprietary
solutions available in market like VMWare and
others. Thus developing indigenous solution with all the
available functionality in market.
C-DAC has established a Private cloud environment to
offer basic cloud services such as Infrastructure, Platform,
and Software service to Government and SMEs. CDAC has
come out with complete open source free software suite
for establishing cloud with value added features that
converts the data centre to cloud centre, focussing on
porting of e-Governance applications. Migration of
Government applications (State Govt. Data Centers and
their applications) and SMEs (ERP) into Cloud.
As a part of cloud computing research various customized
training programs are offered by C-DAC.
The workshop particularly focuses on important aspects of
cloud computing. It aims at providing complete knowledge
on working of a cloud computing suite. Also by this
workshop we wish to bring together researchers from
industry, academia and government to discuss and get
enlightened on all aspects of Cloud Computing
