DIFFERENT
TYPES OF YOGA
BALASANA
In this asana, the body faces the floor in a fetal position.
The knees and hips are bent with the shins on the floor.
The chest can rest either on the knees or the knees can
be spread to about the width of a yoga mat, allowing the
chest to go between the knees. The head is stretched
forward towards the ground - the forehead may touch
the ground. The arms may be stretched forward in front
of the head or backwards towards the feet.
UTTANASANA
Uttanasana is a standing forward
fold, which is considered very good
for relieving stress and soothing the
nervous system. It forms part of the
Surya Namaskar sequences.
SETU BANDHA SARVANGASANA
Setubandhasarvangasana is one of the basic
backbend poses that prepares one for advanced
backbend versions. The term is derived from the
Sanskrit setu, meaning "bridge," bandha, meaning
"lock," sarva, meaning "all," anga, meaning, "limb,"
and asana meaning "pose."
UTTANA SHISHOSANA
 Uttana shishosana is a relaxing asana that is similar to the
restful balasana (child’s pose), but provides a greater
stretch to the spine. This pose activates the center
chakras and offers a range of mental benefits.
 To enter this pose, the practitioner begins with the hands
and knees on the mat. The hands slide forward, while the
glutes push back until they are aligned with the knees.
The head relaxes toward the floor as the hands press into
the mat. The hips move toward the feet for the fullest
expression of the pose.
SAVASANA
 Savasana, or shavasana, is a restorative asana that is a key
component of yoga. It usually follows vinyasa or is practiced near
the end of a yoga session.
 To enter the pose, the body lies face-up on the ground. The legs
are comfortably spread and the arms are relaxed alongside the
body with the palms facing either up or down.
 The term comes from the Sanskrit shava, meaning “corpse,” and
asana, meaning “pose” or “posture.” The common English name
for savasana is corpse pose.
