3. Online banking Typically, when you first visit Woori bank, you need to do the following things. Make a bank account Make a check card / credit card (optional) Apply for internet banking (optional) Internet banking is very convenient tool that you can use. You can check your account and transfer money in internet, and thus very recommended to use. It can be little complicated in the beginning, but from 2nd time it’s easy and fast.

4. Online banking Before we start, you must have the following things that was given or made from the bank. Password code card (a card that is sealed at first) Your internet banking ID & password USB memory (optional) If you have both 1&2, go to http://www.wooribank.com Then click the English at the top. During this whole process, this website requires you to install some Active-X programs via popup. Just Install all else you won’t be able to use it. Also, internet banking only works in Internet Explorer, so do not use firefox, chrome, or safari and complain.

5. Online banking Making Certificate In order to use online banking (transfer), you must make a certificate. First, go to the certificate center – personal. ->Click Issue/Re-issue Certificate ->Agree on terms & conditions ->Input User ID (from the bank) and your alien registration number ->select personal certificate for bank (upper, default) then OK. 6. Online banking ->Input security card code number. Look at the card picture shown for guidance. ->Input your account number (its in your bank book) ,4 digit password, and last 7 digits of your alien registration number. ->Then you get to select where to store the certificate. Saving it in USB drive is recommended, but if you don’t have one then put it on hard disk. ->You then have to make a password for internet banking. This one is used whenever you do something with that certificate. The password should be alphabet + numbers combined and at least 8 digits. ->Now you’ve finished creating certificate. Go bank to the first page.

7. Online banking <After having certificate> In the first page, click Internet banking, then personal

8. Online banking Automatic popup will appear and ask for your password of the certificate. If you have certificate on the portable drive, click it on the top and you’ll find your certificate. Input your password and OK.

9. Online banking After logging in, you’ll find your account’s current status. You can get info of your account, balance, and so forth in here. If you wish to make transfer, click the transfer button on the top. The rest of the process is fairly easy and well described in the webpage, so I won’t deal with it. Contact nearby mentor if you have any questions. They would show you how to use it in first time.

10. Registration for online shopping (isp) ※ For those who made credit card, you should select woori card whenever the website asks the card type. Before you want to make payment by your check card, youmust register ISP service. You don’t have to go to any specific site to do it, but you can do it directly from any internet shopping malls. Let’s follow the steps through examples.

11. Registration for online shopping (isp) This is Gmarket, where most of your shoppings would be done. Create your ID by clicking Register and fill in your info. After making ID and logging in, find a product you want to buy and put it in the shopping cart. Let’s begin from the shopping cart.

12. Registration for online shopping (isp) Sometimes, you won’t see the product you’ve chosen because you are in Oversees tab by default. Click Domestic on the top left. ※Some of the Gmarket products can be shipped to Oversees. Contact nearby mentor for more details.

13. Registration for online shopping (isp) If you have right product in right amount, click the place an order button on the bottom

14. Registration for online shopping (isp) You’ll then see this screen. Input your shipping info first In here, click credit card (general) If you got Credit card from Woori bank -> Select Woori card Check card from Woori bank -> Select BC card And press Pay

15. Registration for online shopping (isp) Ignore the popups (if you need to install something, install) Click the one on red circle Apply/Reapply for ISP

16. Registration for online shopping (isp) Input according info. After filling in, click the left button on the bottom, “다음” Means next ※취소 is cancel

17. Registration for online shopping (isp) Likewise, input info. CVC is, if you look at the back of your card there are some numbers in where you sign. CVC is the last 3 digits of that numbers. The password is same with your bank account

18. Registration for online shopping (isp) You need to save ISP. Save it where you saved bank certificate.

19. Registration for online shopping (isp) You’re done now. Whenever you want to make payment, select the location of ISP and input password. The price will automatically paid from your bank account.

20. Online, foreign, BVB BVB code is something you need to have in order to make payments in foreign websites such as Ebay. You need to go to BC card website in order to do this. It is http://www.bccard.com You’ll need to also install lots of Active-X modules in this website. (only works in internet explorer)

21. Online, foreign, BVB Move your curser to the following. 서비스신청/변경 안심서비스 비자안심클릭(VbV) – click!

22. Online, foreign, BVB Click the blue circle It means create password for VbV service

23. Online, foreign, BVB You have to setup a VbV password You might need it while doing internet shopping in foreign website. Tip) This password can be same with internet banking Click the button on the bottom to finish

24. Credit & check cards We mostly use Woori bank here in KAIST, so all the examples where based on woori bank check card. I personally would recommend you to get a credit card. You will have post-paid transportation service (local buses and metro inside Korea) and lot more of convenience. But if you don’t want to get one, at least get a check card. (not debit card). You can use it almost the same way as credit card.

25. International transfers If you want to make international transfer, you cannot do it in internet banking. You must visit the woori bank nearby (or other banks if you have other banks’ accounts) The first time you want to make international transfer, you must take your Passport Alien registration card With you. From the second time, you don’t need to take passport with you.
