And Jesus, FULL OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT, returned
from Jordan and was led
by the Spirit into the
wilderness

3. FULL/FILLED
• Full of the Spirit- “state of being of the
believer”
Ex. Lord Jesus, John the Baptist,
Apostle Paul and others are full of the
Spirit all the time, it was a continuous
state...
• Filled with the Spirit – “empowering
or anointing” for a special purposes
and special task.

4. What are the
requirements for
experiencing and
maintaining the
fullness of the
Spirit’s power?

5. • WE MUST TOTALLY SURRENDER THE
CONTROL OF OUR MINDS, WILL, AND
EMOTIONS TO THE HOLY SPIRIT.
GALATIANS 5:16
What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your
lives, and you will not satisfy the desires
of the human nature.
• Live, walk and be guided by the Spirit.
• Let the Holy Spirit control all other
aspects of our lives.

6. RESULTS OF BEING FULL OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT’S POWER.
1. POWER TO WITNESS FOR CHRIST.
FEARLESSNESS IN SPEAKING FOR
CHRIST.
ACTS 20:22-24
v.22 I don't know what will happen to me in
Jerusalem, but I must obey God's Spirit and
go there.
v.23 In every city I visit, I am told by the Holy
Spirit that I will be put in jail and will be in
trouble in Jerusalem.
v.24 But I don't care what happens to me, as
long as I finish the work that the Lord Jesus
gave me to do. And that work is to tell the
good news about God's great kindness.

7. RESULTS...
2. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LIVE A LIFE THAT IS
MORE PLEASING TO THE LORD.
• Your life will bring Great glory and honor to the
Lord.
John 16:14
The Spirit will bring glory to me by taking my
message and telling it to you.
Philippians 1:9-11
v.9 I pray that your love will keep on growing and
that you will fully know and understand
v.10 how to make the right choices. Then you will
still be pure and innocent when Christ returns.
And until that day,
v.11 Jesus Christ will keep you busy doing good
deeds that bring glory and praise to God.

3. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LIVE A MORE
HOLY LIFE.
1 PETER 1:14-16
v.14 As obedient children, do not conform
to the evil desires you had when you live in
ignorance.
v.15 But just as he Who called you is holy, so
be holy in all you do;
v.16 For it is written: “be holy, because I Am
holy.”

9. ISV
As obedient children, do not be shaped by
the desires that used to influence you
when you were ignorant.
NLT
You must live as God’s obedient children.
Don’t slip back into your old ways of
living to satisfy you own desire.
1 PETER 1:14

4. YOU WILL BECOME MORE FRUITFUL.
JOHN 15:16
"You have not chosen me, but I have
chosen you. I have appointed you to go
and produce fruit that will last, so that
whatever you ask the Father in my name,
he will give it to you.

5. You will have more love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness,
faithfulness, and self-control.
GALATIANS. 5:22-23

12. RESULTS...
6. You will be able to overcome your
feelings of anger, lust, jealousy, envy,
carnality, complacency, apathy, idolatry,
divisions, inappropriate behaviour or
speech. GALATIANS 5:19-21

13. When you are FULL OF
THE SPIRIT you will be
able to know the Lord in a
greater way and fully
experience His power,
perspective and love.

14. Why are many not
experiencing the
fullness of the
Spirit’s power???

15. Reasons...
1. Because they are not willing to deny
themselves, take up their cross and follow
Jesus in all aspect of life. Luke 9:23
2. Because they are afraid to give up their own
comforts and offer themselves as a living
sacrifice to the Lord. (Carnal Christians)
Romans.12:1
3. Because they are afraid to witness.
Romans 1:16
4. Because they are afraid to trust and obey
the Lord in all things. John 14:21
5. Because they don’t care the Lord’s
purposes/ glorious destiny.

16. REASONS...
7. Because they don’t want to submit to godly
authorities who can guide them to higher
levels of maturity and fruitfulness. Heb. 13:7
6. Because they are unaware that they are
still infants regarding their maturity in the
Lord.
2 PETER 2:2 (renounce childishness,
maturity is necessary to experience the
fullness of the Holy spirit.)
8. Because of lack of prayer.
9. They don’t have the Spirit of understanding.

17. CONCLUSION:
•The Fullness of the Holy
Spirit is so important in
serving the Lord...
•It is a REQUIREMENT and
we must possess it, this is
one of the QUALIFICATIONS
for spiritual service...
