Behrokh Khoshnevis, a professor of industrial and systems engineering at the
University of Southern California has been working on a method that uses the
printing technology to create a 2500 square-foot buildings in under 20 hours.
With support and funding from the US military as well as NASA

A Chinese company built 10 one-story homes in
24 hours using 3D printing technology.
3D Printed House to Be Built In Amsterdam
Working with another Dutch firm Ultimaker, Dus Architects have
developed the KamerMaker (Room Maker), a 3D Printer big enough to
print chunks of buildings, up to 2x2x3.5 meters high, out of hot melt, a bio-
plastic mix that’s about 75% plant oil. The chunks can then be stacked and
connected together like LEGO bricks, forming multi-story homes whose
designs can be adapted according to users’ needs/desires.
WinSun Decoration Design Engineering built the houses in
Shanghai using four giant 3D printers, which are each 10 meters
(33 feet) wide and 6.6 meters (22 feet) high, according to Chinese
news agency Xinhua.
They produce a mix of cement and construction waste to construct
the walls layer by layer, a process much like how a baker might ice
a cake.

The chunks can then be stacked and connected together like LEGO bricks, forming multi-story homes whose designs can be adapted according to users’ needs/desires. WinSun Decoration Design Engineering built the houses in Shanghai using four giant 3D printers, which are each 10 meters (33 feet) wide and 6.6 meters (22 feet) high, according to Chinese news agency Xinhua.
