SameSexSunday’s weekly political round table will provide the exposure to push these subjects to the forefront.

samesexsunday weekly politics round table Every week we will assemble the most influential leaders and thinkers in our movement along with unique and insightful and interesting young voices in the news, to generate provocative discussion over some of the most important issues facing our community.  Listen for conservative opinions, progressive voices and radical leaders from inside and outside the political establishment to give their take on what’s next in the movement.

philattey Phil Attey is a twenty year veteran of the LGBT equality movement, having served on the steering committee for the 1993 March on Washington, and as a staffer for the Human Rights Campaign for nearly a decade. Phil was one of the early pioneers of online organizing and now volunteers his expertise in online social networking for national LGBT legislative and political efforts, as well as a variety of progressive electoral and presidential campaigns.
brucecarroll Bruce Carroll has been involved in Republican politics since he was 14 years old, growing in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He credits his Mom for becoming involved in politics and government as she worked for US Congressman Robert S. Walker (ret.) for 20 years. In addition to active involvement in Pennsylvania Republican grassroots campaigns, Bruce was elected as the youngest borough councilman in the State of Pennsylvania at the age of 21 in 1992. Bruce also served as a board member for the Philadelphia chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans in the late 1990s. In September 2004, Bruce launched the very successful gay conservative political blog - GayPatriot.org. GayPatriot was an original member of the PajamasMediablogger network. GayPatriot receives approximately 100,000 visitors each month and has had over 2.6 million unique visitors since its launch. Bruce's work experience includes 15 years in healthcare policy and government relations in the biotechnology industry. He currently resides in Charlotte, NC and lives with his partner of 10 years, John, and their two dogs Saxby and Shadow. Saxby was named after US Senator Saxby Chambliss after his surprising electoral win in 2002.
michaelcrawford Michael Crawford is Director of New Media for Freedom to Marry, the leading campaign to win marriage nationwide. He has a wide range of experience in political advocacy, new media, and grassroots organizing. He was co-founder and co-chair of D.C. for Marriage, a grassroots group that helped to successfully pass the D.C. marriage bill. For his work on the freedom to marry in D.C., he was named as one of The Advocate Magazine's 2009 People of the Year and one of the Washington Blade’s “10 People Who Make Us Proud.” Michael blogs at The Bilerico Project and Huffington Post.
chrisgeidner Chris Geidner is the senior political writer at D.C.'s Metro Weekly and has written for The Atlantic Online, Advocate.com, Salon and other publications, as well as at his blog, Law Dork. Prior to moving to D.C. in 2009, he served as an attorney on the senior staff at the Ohio Attorney General's Office and had earlier worked for a leading Columbus law firm.
cathyrenna Cathy is nationally recognized as a media relations expert and as a leader within the LGBT community. She was a major force behind the success and growth of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), where she worked for 14 years. Cathy is now the Managing Partner of Renna Communications, a public interest communications firm that focuses on LGBT issues and provides sophisticated and nuanced communications strategies to organizations and people who are working to change the world for the better. Since its inception in 2006, Renna Communications has worked with dozens of highly visible organizations like SAGE, the Family Equality Council, PFLAG, the Williams Institute at UCLA Law School, the Palm Center and many others.
andrewszekeres Andy Szekeres is a nationally touted fundraiser in Progressive circles. Most recently, Andy served as the finance director for the No on 1 Protect Maine Equality Campaign where he raised over 4.9 Million dollars in less than 5 months. His impressive track record includes raising over $16 million dollars in the last three election cycles.  Andy has also served as a Statewide Field Director for both issue and candidate campaigns, giving him a unique perspective and political insight that are rare amongst Political Fundraisers. His past candidates include No on 1 - Protect Maine Equality, Congressman Polis, Fawcett for Congress, Lamm for Congress, Yes of Referendum I, Vallas for Governor, Skinner for Senate and 23 other races.
drjilliantweiss Dr. Jillian T. Weiss has a J.D. and a Ph.D. in Law, Policy & Society. Currently Associate Professor of Law and Society at Ramapo College of New Jersey, she has conducted research involving hundreds of companies and public agencies that have adopted "gender identity" policies. She publishes a popular blog on the subject of Transgender Workplace Diversity, and has numerous research publications on the subject of gender identity. Links to these are found below. Dr. Weiss is also Principal Consultant for Jillian T. Weiss & Associates, a consulting firm that works with organizations on transgender workplace diversity issues. She has trained hundreds of employees at corporations, law firms, universities and governmental organizations, including Harvard University, Boeing, HSBC, KPMG, Viacom, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services. Her work has been featured in news stories by the New York Times, Associated Press, Fortune Small Business Magazine, the Society for Human Resource Management, Workforce Management Magazine, and HR Executive Magazine.
