The Role of Therapy

  2. 2. Introduction  As head of PHL HP Consulting Group, Inc., Dr. Philip H. Levy has worked with leaders of a variety of businesses and organizations to help them develop effective management approaches. In his consulting practice, Dr. Philip H. Levy draws upon his background in clinical psychology and therapy. According to Dr. Levy, people are turning to therapists more frequently than in the past. There are a number of reasons why this may be the case. For instance, people are living longer, and many people struggle with their financial futures not shaping up as planned. Additionally, despite the tool of social media, people might have trouble forming meaningful connections with others.
  3. 3. Therapy  In addition to seeking help addressing these challenges, a key reason why more people are seeking therapy is that there is less of a stigma attached to it. More people understand the value of talking through their problems with a psychologist. Therapy is a tool that regular people use to help with living a happier life. For instance, therapy can help individuals improve interpersonal relationships, become a better parent, lose weight, or make other healthy lifestyle changes. Therapy is also a way to practice being more open with one’s feelings and needs, as well as a tool for building self-esteem. Whatever a person’s goals, using the services of a qualified therapist can help improve a person’s overall quality of life and well-being.
