Social media training
Social media training in Azerbaijan
I was invited by the Danish NGO International Media Support to
conduct a four day training course in social media for human
rights defenders and activists in Azerbaijan.

Based on the needs of the participants I created a course which
was based on the methodological foundation of my book ”Den
perfekte storm”. The objective of the course was to give the
participants a high-level understanding of social media strategy
combined with a very low-lewel practical understanding of
relevant tools and cases from the NGO world.

The course program for the week looked as follows:
Tuesday     Introduction to social media strategy: The Perfect
            Storm!

Wednesday   Part 1: Social media NGO cases

            Part 2: Listening to and monitoring the social media

Thursday    Tool day: Learn about and try working with the 14
            most important social media tools

Friday      Strategy day: Develop a social media strategy for your
            organization or for yourself
Teaching tools
As part of the course I used the collaboration platform
Podio, which both showed the participants the value of using
social collaboration tools and provided a very practical tool for
conducting the four day course.
Results
All of the participants completed the course and were certified
in the use of social media. But more importantly the
participants developed unique social media strategies for their
organizations, which were presented on the final day of the
course.

Social Media Training in Azerbaijan

Social media training in Azerbaijan I was invited by the Danish NGO International Media Support to conduct a four day training course in social media for human rights defenders and activists in Azerbaijan. Based on the needs of the participants I created a course which was based on the methodological foundation of my book ”Den perfekte storm”. The objective of the course was to give the participants a high-level understanding of social media strategy combined with a very low-lewel practical understanding of relevant tools and cases from the NGO world. The course program for the week looked as follows:
  • 3. Tuesday Introduction to social media strategy: The Perfect Storm! Wednesday Part 1: Social media NGO cases Part 2: Listening to and monitoring the social media Thursday Tool day: Learn about and try working with the 14 most important social media tools Friday Strategy day: Develop a social media strategy for your organization or for yourself
  • 4. Teaching tools As part of the course I used the collaboration platform Podio, which both showed the participants the value of using social collaboration tools and provided a very practical tool for conducting the four day course.
  • 5. Results All of the participants completed the course and were certified in the use of social media. But more importantly the participants developed unique social media strategies for their organizations, which were presented on the final day of the course.
