4. Glory as an Attribute of God
For all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God.

5. Glory as an Attribute of God
Then Moses set up the courtyard around the
tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain
at the entrance to the courtyard. And so
Moses finished the work.
Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting,
and the glory of the LORD filled the
tabernacle. Moses could not enter the Tent
of Meeting because the cloud had settled
upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the
tabernacle.

5For David said, "Solomon my son is
young and inexperienced, and the house
that is to be built for the LORD must be
exceedingly magnificent, of fame and
glory throughout all lands. I will
therefore make preparation for it." So
David provided materials in great
quantity before his death.

7. Glory as an Attribute of Israel
Now his daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was
pregnant and about to give birth; and when she
heard the news that the ark of God was taken and
that her father-in-law and her husband had died,
she kneeled down and gave birth, for her pains
came upon her. And about the time of her death
the women who stood by her said to her, “Do not
be afraid, for you have given birth to a son.” But
she did not answer or pay attention. And she
called the boy Ichabod, saying, “The glory has
departed from Israel,” because the ark of God was
taken and because of her father-in-law and her
husband. And she said, “The glory has departed
from Israel, for the ark of God was taken.”

8. Glory as an Offering to God
• “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth
peace among men with whom He is
pleased.” Luke 2:14
• For although they knew God, they neither
glorified him as God nor gave thanks to
him, but their thinking became futile and
their foolish hearts were darkened.
Romans 1:21
9. Glory as an Attribute of Jesus
• And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,
and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only
begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth
(John 1:14).
• And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact
representation of His nature, and upholds all
things by the word of His power. When He had
made purification of sins, He sat down at the right
hand of the Majesty on high
(Hebrews 1:3).
10. Glory as a Verb
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven
and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify
your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you
granted him authority over all people that he might
give eternal life to all those you have given him.
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you
have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by
completing the work you gave me to do. And now,
Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I
had with you before the world began.
John 17:1-5
11. Glory & the Name of God
“Now My soul has become troubled; and
what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this
hour’? But for this purpose I came to this
hour. “Father, glorify Thy name.” There came
therefore a voice out of heaven: “I have both
glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The
multitude therefore, who stood by and heard
it, were saying that it had thundered; others
were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

12. Glory and the Presence of God
The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you,
and I will give you rest.“ Then Moses said to him,
"If your Presence does not go with us, do not send
us up from here. Then Moses said, "Now show me
your glory.“ And the LORD said, "I will cause all
my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will
proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence.
But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one
may see me and live.” Then the LORD said, "There
is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.
When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in
the rock and cover you with my hand until I have
passed by.

13. Glory and the Saints
And while He was praying, the appearance of
His face became different, and His clothing
became white and gleaming. And behold,
two men were talking with Him; and they
were Moses and Elijah, who, appearing in
glory, were speaking of His departure which
He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
Now Peter and his companions had been
overcome with sleep; but when they were
fully awake, they saw His glory and the two
men standing with Him.

14. Glory & the World
Again, the devil took Him to a very
high mountain, and showed Him
all the kingdoms of the world, and
their glory; and he said to Him,
“All these things will I give You, if
You fall down and worship me.”

15. Glory as an Attribute of Believers
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that
they may be one as we are one: I in them and you
in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let
the world know that you sent me and have loved
them even as you have loved me. Father, I want
those you have given me to be with me where I
am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given
me because you loved me before the creation of
the world. Righteous Father, though the world
does not know you, I know you, and they know that
you have sent me. I have made you known to
them, and will continue to make you known in
order that the love you have for me may be in them
and that I myself may be in them.“

16. Glory and the Church
Husbands, love your wives, just as
Christ also loved the church and gave
Himself up for her; that He might
sanctify her, having cleansed her by
the washing of water with the word,
that He might present to Himself the
church in all her glory, having no spot
or wrinkle or any such thing; but that
she should be holy and Blameless.

17. Glory as Power
Therefore we have been buried with
Him through baptism into death, in
order that as Christ was raised from
the dead through the glory of the
Father, so we too might walk in
newness of life.
