- Before moving on: a quick word about the “On Track Program” School of Nursing staff are aware that first year students like yourself can, at times, feel overwhelmed by the new environment, academic language, timetables and study requirements. At JCU, we care about the success of our students and, to support students through their first year of study, we have a programme called ‘On Track’. The ‘On Track’ programme focuses on supporting students who do not attend their lectures, tutorials and/or practicals (which ever is appropriate) in the first few weeks of semester. We want to make sure that students are aware of all the support that is available on campus to assist students to achieve positive outcomes as well as enjoy their first year university experience.. If you are one of these students, you can expect a courtesy call from a student mentor from the School of Nursing in week 4/5. This supportive phone call will advise you of the large number of support services available to support you in your academic success.
