Make Sunday School a part of your life!

The Holland Sentinel is donating Sunday newspapers to the
church in support of youth outreach. If you would like to
support this cause by making a donation for the paper, the
newspaper rack is located in the front entranceway.
Thank you!

If you are planning to purchase a
new laptop for Christmas and
wonder what you will do with your
old one, consider donating it to the
church to be used in our Christian
Education Wing. We could use a
couple workable laptops capable of running basic
programs such as Word and Power Point. We don‟t require
a lot of RAM memory as it will not be used for games.

To our Friends at Parkside Bible We rejoice in your “partnership in the Gospel.” You are a constant source of
encouragement to us in just knowing that there are others who are as passionate about
our ministry as we are! We are so grateful for your part in not only serving missionary
kids and their families but also in reaching out to the Kenyans during our school breaks.
We rejoice that 7 of our dorm sons gave their lives to Christ this term. What a spiritual
awakening! We are so thankful for you! Merry Christmas and blessings on the
upcoming year! Until the whole world hears,

REMINDER ABOUT CHURCH CANCELLATIONS
It’s that time of year again to remind the
congregation about the church cancellation
policy. During the week, if there is no
school at West Ottawa Public Schools
due to the weather, if the children are sent
home early from school or if their evening
events are canceled, all church events for children and youth will also
be canceled.
If we have an adult event at church, the cancellation is up to the person
in charge of the event. Our church policy is to always hold the Sunday
morning worship service unless the weather is hazardous and the police
advise people to stay off the roads. If you have a question on a
cancellation, please call the church office or listen to cancellation
broadcasts on WOOD TV Channel 8, WZZM Channel 13, JQ 99 FM,
WCSG 91.3, or WPNW 1260 AM or you can access these stations
online.

If you checked out a sign for our Craft Fair to put in your yard or neighborhood
and haven’t returned it yet, please drop it off at the church ASAP. We want to
reuse them next year. Thanks!

Starting Sunday, January 5, a new
Ladies Sunday School Class will begin!

NEW: “Grace” - DVD study with Max Lucado
Grace. We talk as though we understand the term. The bank gives us a grace
period. We say grace before dinner. But do we really understand it? Have we
settled for wimpy grace? It politely occupies a phrase in a hymn, fits nicely on a
church sign. never causes trouble or demands a response. When asked, “Do you
believe in grace?” who could say no?
Max Lucado asks a deeper question ... Have you been changed by grace? Shaped
by grace? Strengthened by grace? Emboldened by grace? Softened by grace?
Snatched by the nape of your neck and shaken to your senses by grace? Grace is
the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off. Let’s
make certain grace gets you.
There are 10 participant guides available for $5 and 10 of Max’s bestselling book
“Grace” available for $10. These are not required for being part of this 7 session
mixed adult class but will add to your growth as you experience “Grace!”

Continued: The Gospel of John
This mixed adult class continues the Bible exposition of the Gospel of John and
will include class discussions led by various Parkside teachers as we seek to
grow in our faith and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed in
Scripture so that we may have life in His name.

Jesus often showed women acceptance, compassion, and
understanding. In each lesson of this insightful study of Luke,
we will focus on a conversation between Jesus and a woman,
showing how he helped free them of their negative feelings and
destructive behaviors---and encouraged them to embrace healthy
attitudes and positive actions. You will have your own encounter
with Jesus and learn how truly valuable you are to him.
A group member will work on a weekly lesson at home from
“Luke: Finding Truth and Healing in Jesus' Words to Women”
study book by Sue Edwards, and will participate in a group
discussion during the class. A lesson/teaching will be also
provided by various facilitators/teachers of our church during the
class. The study starts on Sunday, January 5 and ends on March 16.
Please sign up by 12/22 to secure a study book for the Jan. 5th
introduction class. The cost of the study book is $6.00.
If you have any questions, please see Ria.

  • 5. REMINDER ABOUT CHURCH CANCELLATIONS It’s that time of year again to remind the congregation about the church cancellation policy. During the week, if there is no school at West Ottawa Public Schools due to the weather, if the children are sent home early from school or if their evening events are canceled, all church events for children and youth will also be canceled. If we have an adult event at church, the cancellation is up to the person in charge of the event. Our church policy is to always hold the Sunday morning worship service unless the weather is hazardous and the police advise people to stay off the roads. If you have a question on a cancellation, please call the church office or listen to cancellation broadcasts on WOOD TV Channel 8, WZZM Channel 13, JQ 99 FM, WCSG 91.3, or WPNW 1260 AM or you can access these stations online. If you checked out a sign for our Craft Fair to put in your yard or neighborhood and haven’t returned it yet, please drop it off at the church ASAP. We want to reuse them next year. Thanks! • 6. Starting Sunday, January 5, a new Ladies Sunday School Class will begin! NEW: “Grace” - DVD study with Max Lucado Grace. We talk as though we understand the term. The bank gives us a grace period. We say grace before dinner. But do we really understand it? Have we settled for wimpy grace? It politely occupies a phrase in a hymn, fits nicely on a church sign. never causes trouble or demands a response. When asked, “Do you believe in grace?” who could say no? Max Lucado asks a deeper question ... Have you been changed by grace? Shaped by grace? Strengthened by grace? Emboldened by grace? Softened by grace? Snatched by the nape of your neck and shaken to your senses by grace? Grace is the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off. Let’s make certain grace gets you. There are 10 participant guides available for $5 and 10 of Max’s bestselling book “Grace” available for $10. These are not required for being part of this 7 session mixed adult class but will add to your growth as you experience “Grace!” Continued: The Gospel of John This mixed adult class continues the Bible exposition of the Gospel of John and will include class discussions led by various Parkside teachers as we seek to grow in our faith and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed in Scripture so that we may have life in His name. Tear off and place in offering plate  Yes, I’m planning on being a part of the Gospel of John class! Name(s): ____________________________ Jesus often showed women acceptance, compassion, and understanding. In each lesson of this insightful study of Luke, we will focus on a conversation between Jesus and a woman, showing how he helped free them of their negative feelings and destructive behaviors---and encouraged them to embrace healthy attitudes and positive actions. You will have your own encounter with Jesus and learn how truly valuable you are to him. A group member will work on a weekly lesson at home from “Luke: Finding Truth and Healing in Jesus' Words to Women” study book by Sue Edwards, and will participate in a group discussion during the class. A lesson/teaching will be also provided by various facilitators/teachers of our church during the class. The study starts on Sunday, January 5 and ends on March 16. Please sign up by 12/22 to secure a study book for the Jan. 5th introduction class. The cost of the study book is $6.00. If you have any questions, please see Ria.
