SEO Executive: October 2014 – Present
The role is focused on on and off-page optimisation, working on the primary UK domain and managing the
Australian, South African, New Zealand and French territories alongside.
On page optimisation is focused on keyword research and copywriting within the voucher and money-
saving space. Everyday tasks include technical copywriting (both copy and metadata), use of Amazon Web
Services for managing content, extensive use of Google Analytics and other tools (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs,
Majestic SEO) and generally spotting opportunities for growth and driving traffic.
Off page optimisation involves innovating, researching and creating the brief for infographics, securing
links and coverage internationally. Major lands include pieces on The Huffington Post, The Daily Telegraph,
and the News.com.au networks. Other elements also include chasing company mentions in the press and
online, competitor link analysis, creating other resources and guides and general activity related to building
high authority links.
Also manage the external PR agency in their day-to-day activities, creating ideas, sub-editing and advising
on survey-based stories, reputation management and generally increasing brand awareness.

Digital Editor: December 2012 – May 2014 (Previously Digital Executive: May 2012 – December 2012)
Responsible for all things digital under the 72Point umbrella – including developing the contacts database
for and distributing survey-based news stories, writing, editing and adapting news copy and press releases
for online, working multiple social media accounts and project-managing infographics and developing the
infographic offering of the company as a whole.
Also innovated the data-led approach to analysing coverage of survey-based newspaper stories, looking at
industry-wide survey-led news content in the national newspapers and recommending changes as a result.
The role included management of an external team member, overseeing the creation and delivery of
coverage documents and client feedback. Clients included the likes British Airways, Hilton Hotels and
Disney, and coverage was regularly secured on sites including The Mail Online, The Daily Telegraph, The
Metro and across the Yahoo and MSN networks, both in the UK and internationally.

Creator and Editor: March 2013 – May 2014
While with 72Point, created and acted as Editor for the news website built around infographics and data
visualisation. This involved creating a newswire (using Yahoo Pipes), running social media accounts
(Pinterest, Twitter) and creating guest blog posts (Cool Infographics, Visualising Data).
Daily traffic peaked at 6,000 unique visitors, with one post seeing 34,000 visitors.

Working in the digital, marketing, events and editorial teams, roles included creating social media plans
