The future of the English language in my life
Language is the road map of a culture.
It tells you where its people come from
and where they are going.

Since 1991 when Ukraine became a sovereign state it has been setting new contacts with many
foreign countries around the world. We cannot and do not want to be aside this process. That is why
learning the English language is the matter of necessity.
Among many languages English is the most widespread language in the world and except the
international computer language, English, to my mind, is the most important one. What is more, it is
a very melodic language, the language with a long history; many traditions of the English are
reflected in their language.
Knowledge of the English language gives people an opportunity to find a good job either in a
private company or in one of the state institutions or enterprises. Moreover, to study a foreign
language means to learn more about the country, its culture, history, customs and traditions, people
and their lifestyle. Such interest in other people's life usually broadens your outlook, makes you
more tolerant to people's opinion and helps you understand people and other culture.
After leaving school I am going to enter the University at the department of foreign languages
because I want to become an interpreter. There are several reasons why I have made such a
decision. First of all, I am good at learning languages both Ukrainian and foreign ones. Secondly,
my dream is to see the world and visit other countries. I am sure that knowledge of English will
help me communicate with foreigners.
In conclusion, I believe that knowledge of English gives people the possibility to be able to speak
freely with foreigners about business, politics, culture, sport and hobbies. Knowing the English
language you can express your opinion and understand other people in this country as well as
abroad.
