Some lessons for our hearts of Flesh
• Prov.1:7 (NIV.)-:
The fear of the
LORD is the
beginning of
knowledge, but
FOOLS despise
wisdom and
instruction.
• Ìbẹ̀rù OLUWA ni
ìbẹ̀rẹ̀ ìmọ̀,ṣugbọn
ÀWỌN ÒMÙGỌ̀
a máa pẹ̀gàn
ọgbọ́n ati ẹ̀kọ́.

• Prov.1:7(GNT.)-:’…Stupid people have
no respect for wisdom and refuse to learn.
• Every time U&I willingly disobey God’s
word, we are the one to suffer for it and
not God.
• …And we are STUPID & FOOLISH.

Prov. 8:36 (MSG):
• But if you…reject me, you’re flirting
with death.”
• Every time U&I willingly disobey God’s
word, we are flirting with death.

Prov.28:8-:
• NCV. If you get rich by overcharging
others and taking advantage of people,
your wealth will be given to others who
are kind to the poor.
• Q: Are there lessons for Business people?

God’s
‘Terms of Reference’
for our Business

• There is a God who is a God of increase in
all kinds of business (Deut. 28:11-12,
Proverbs 10:22).
• There is a God who is the ONLY one that
gives Power to get wealth (Deut. 8:18).
• There is a God who is the ONLY one that
can give Power to make Great Gains
(1Chr. 29:12, Isa.45:3, Prov. 8:18-21).

Prov.8:18-21(TLB)-:
• ‘Unending Riches,...are mine to
distribute….Those who love and
FOLLOW ME are indeed wealthy.
I fill their treasuries.
• Every wise business person must learn to
FOLLOW this God of Great Gains
before going into business.

• This God is saying: ‘I fill the treasuries
of those who FOLLOW ME in business’
• But this God has ‘Terms of Reference’
EVEN for Business.
And God is saying:
• ‘Those who FOLLOW my ‘Terms of
Reference’ in business, I give them
Unending Riches in their business.

• Prov.16:11(MSG)-: GOD cares about
honesty in the workplace; your business
is his business.
• GNT-: The LORD wants weights and
measures to be honest and Every Sale To
Be Fair.
• NLT-: The Lord demands accurate scales
and balances; he Sets the standards for
Fairness.
God’s ‘Terms of Reference’ for Business

• Prov.20:23(MSG)-: God hates cheating
in the Market Place…’
God is saying:
• ‘If you want me to give you Unending
Riches in your business, RUN from any
kind of cheating and its ‘cousins’ in your
business’
• Unending Riches means riches that you
will leave for your children.
Run from Cheating & ALL its cousins

• Prov.11:1(MSG)-: GOD hates cheating in
the Market Place; he loves it when
business is ABOVEBOARD.
Aboveboard (Dictionary): legal, honest, fair
etc.
God is saying:
• If you want me to fill your treasury (Bank
Account) with UNENDING RICHES
(Prov.8:18-21), strive to make your
business honest and FAIR to ALL.

• Prov.11:1(AMP)-: A False balance and
Dishonest business practices are
extremely offensive to the LORD, But an
Accurate scale is His delight.
God is saying:
• If you want me to fill your Bank Account
with unending riches RUN from ALL
kinds of lies like different Kongos for
different customers in the market place.

• Prov.16:11(NASB)-: A just balance and
scales belong to the LORD; All the
weights of the bag are HIS CONCERN.
• This means IF God is a partner in your
business, then, He is concerned about
HOW you sell your goods.

• He is concerned about the KIND of
gains you make and HOW you make
your gains.
• If you are not satisfied with these ‘Terms
of Reference’ of HIS;
• Then He steps out of your business and
then you are O-Y-O, PERIOD!

PADDING your cost price
• Prov.20:10(MSG)-: SWITCHING price
tags and PADDING the expense account
are two things GOD hates.
• This means Switching the price tag on the
same good depending on who is buying is
hated by God;
• It means God hates it when you PAD (Jack
Up) your expense account (i.e. how much
you bought your goods) in order to convince
your customer to pay exorbitantly.

PADDING your cost price
• God hates it when you PAD your expense
account (i.e. your cost price) in order to
take advantage of your customers/clients
(e.g. during festive seasons like
Christmas, New Year Day, Ileya day etc.).

God Hates Overcharging
• Prov.28:8(NCV)-: If you get rich by
Overcharging others and Taking Advantage
of people, your wealth will be given to others
who are KIND to the poor.
• This means as far as God is concerned, there
is something called Overcharging in
business.
• It means as far as God is concerned, you can
overcharge your customers/clients if you are
not careful.

God Hates Overcharging
• Prov.28:8(NCV)-: If you get rich by
Overcharging others and Taking
Advantage of people, your wealth will be
given to others who are KIND to the poor.
• It means when you overcharge your
customers/clients, you are actually taking
advantage of them.
• It means when you do this, you are NOT
being Kind.

Some Gains are UNJUST
Prov.28:8(KJV)-:
• He that by…UNJUST gain increaseth his
substance, he shall gather it for him that
will pity the poor.
• This means as far as God is concerned,
some gains or charges are UNJUST.
Unjust (Dictionary):
• unfair, UNREASONABLE, excessive etc.

Some Gains are UN-REASONABLE
• It means as far as God is concerned, some
gains/charges are reasonable and some
are un-reasonable.
• It means if your charges are UN-
REASONABLE, you are Not Kind to
your customers/clients.

Some Charges are TOO HIGH
• Prov.28:8(NLT)-:Income from charging
HIGH interest rates will end up in the
pocket of someone who is KIND to the
poor.
some charges are TOO HIGH.
• It means if your charges are TOO HIGH,
you are Not Kind to your customers or
clients.

Some Charges are EXCESSIVE
• Prov.28:8(HCSB)-: Whoever increases
his wealth through EXCESSIVE interest
collects it for one who is to the poor.
some charges (interest) are
EXCESSIVE.

Some Gains are EXORBITANT
• Prov.28:8(ISV)-: Whoever gains wealth
by charging EXORBITANT interest
collects it for someone who is kind to the
poor.
some gains are EXORBITANT.

Some Gains are Cheating & Extortion
• Prov. 28:8(MSG)-: Get as rich as you want
through Cheating and Extortion, But
eventually some friend of the poor is going to
give it all back to them.
• This means as far as God is concerned, some
gains are pure EXTORTION;
• It means when you make such gains, you are
Cheating your clients & you are actually a
CHEAT.
• It means such gains are NOT from the lord.

You can take advantage of Customers
• Prov. 28:8(GNT)-: If you get rich by
charging interest and taking advantage
of people, your wealth will go to
someone who is kind to the poor.
there are some gains you can make by
TAKING ADVANTAGE of your
customers/clients if you are not careful.

• Deut.25:13(KJV)-: Thou shalt not have
in thy bag divers weights, a great and a
small.
• Deut.25:13 HCSB-: You must not have
two different weights in your bag, one
heavy and one light.

• Prov.20:10(CEV)-:Two things the
LORD hates are dishonest scales and
dishonest measures.
• GNT-: The LORD hates people who use
dishonest weights and measures.
• ISV-: FALSE weights and measures-the
LORD surely detests both of them.

You are Unjust as your Unjust Gains
• This means false balances & Unjust
(exorbitant) gains are the same before
God and are hated by Him.
• Prov.20:10(BST)-: A large and small
weight, and divers measures, are even
both of them UNCLEAN before the
Lord; and so is he that makes them.
• …Very Serious Matter b4 God.

WHAT!...Who do you think I am?
• Micah 6:11(NIV)-: Shall I acquit
someone with dishonest scales, with a
bag of false weights?
• EXV-: Shall I acquit the man with
wicked scales and with a bag of deceitful
weights?
• NASB-: "Can I justify wicked scales and
a bag of deceptive weights?

• Micah 6:11(HCSB)-: Can I excuse wicked
scales or bags of deceptive weights?
• (KJV)-: Shall I count them PURE with the
wicked balances, and with the bag of
deceitful weights?
God is saying:
• To me you are Not Pure, you are Unclean
& you are Wicked when you take
advantage of your customers.

Ezek. 45: 9-12 (MSG)-:
‘This is the Message of GOD, the
Master: ‘I’ve put up with you long
enough, princes of Israel! Quit bullying
and taking advantage of my people. Do
what’s just and right for a change. Use
honest scales—honest weights and
honest measures...’

Your Business can affect your Life Span
Deut.25:13-16:
• "You shall not have in your bag differing
weights, a large and a small. "You shall not
have in your house differing measures, a
large and a small.
• "You shall have a full and just weight; you
shall have a full and just measure, that your
days may be PROLONGED in the land
which the LORD your God gives you.

Your Business can affect your Life Span
Deut.25:13-16(MSG)-:
• Don’t carry around with you two weights,
one heavy and the other light, and don’t
keep two measures at hand, one large and
the other small.
• Use only one weight, a true and honest
weight, and one measure, a true and honest
measure, so that you will Live a Long Time
on the land that GOD, your God, is giving
you…’

Doesn’t Matter if you don’t Believe
• Whether you believe it or not it does not
matter;
• But God, the maker of ALL lives is saying
you can PROLONG your life by the way
you do your business;
• If U&I love our lives, this is a serious
matter that we CANNOT afford to ignore.

• Except the good Lord blesses, no amount
of Exorbitant charges can enrich you.
• The more exorbitant your gain is, the
more the ‘God of all gains’ move away
from your business (O-Y-O).
Praising the lord,
from whom all blessings flow (3ce),
Praising the lord,
from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him for ever more

• How then do I know such UNJUST gains
that can make God STEER CLEAR of
my business?
• How do I know such UNGODLY
charges that can make God STAY AWAY
from my business?
• How do you know EXORBITANT gains
that can make God, leave you and your
business O-Y-O???
