The Will
A widow was at the lawyer’s office to hear
the will of her late husband. When she
learnt that her late husband had left the
major portion of his fortune to his mistress,
she was enraged. Filled with anger and
hatred, she went to see the stonecutter to
have the inscription on her husband’s
tombstone changed.
“I’m sorry, ma’am,” the stonecutter told
her. “I inscribed ‘REST IN PEACE’ based
on your orders. It’s too late to change it
now.”
“Very well,” the fuming widow said grimly,
“in that case, just add these words :
‘UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN’”.
Reflection
* Anger, ill-will and hatred oftentimes drive a
person to do the things you least expect ... and
these include acts to inflict fear and pain in
others.
* One who cannot let go of some unfortunate past
happenings can react in negative ways ... and
these bring suffering to oneself.
* When one learns to forgive, one will develop a
mind of lightness, peace, happiness and freedom.

The College Graduate
A young man hired by a supermarket
reported for his first day of work.
The manager greeted him with a
warm handshake and a smile, gave
him a broom, and said, “Your first
job will be to sweep out the store.”
“But I’m a college graduate,” the
young man replied indignantly.
“Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t realize
that,” the manager said. “Here, give
me the broom – I’ll show you how.”
Reflections
* One should never regard certain menial tasks as
‘lowly’ even if one has high academic
qualifications.
* When one's ego grows big, one will face with
negative consequences, for example,
unemployment, relationship with others and a
greater feeling of frustration more and more often.
* One needs to practise simplicity and humility
and be willing to do any sort of work as long as
the work does not flout moral principles or
society's laws.
* We are all interdependent on one another ...
each type of worker contributes to society to make
our lives more comfortable and easy.
