7. The Need for Divestment Many US cities and states have legally invested their workers ’ pension fund money in foreign companies who invest in Iran ’ s energy sector. American money still reaches and supports Iran. This must stop. Divestment allows for legal withdrawal of pension funds from companies investing in Iran. It should be supported .
