Who doesn’t love butter cookies?
Homemade cookies make for
great snacks that can be munched
anytime! They can be mad as per
one’s taste – soft, crispy, chewy,
thin or thick. There are an
umpteen number of simple and
easy recipes with which you can
make delicious butter cookies at
home.
3. Ingredients :
1. ½ cup whole wheat flour
2. ½ cup all-purpose flour
3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
4. 1/3 cup vegetable oil
5. 2/3cup packed dark brown sugar
6. 1 large egg
7. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
8. ½ cu rolled oats
9. ½ cup dried currants or raisins

4. Directions:
1. The oven should be preheated to
350 degrees. In a medium bowl, the
flours and baking powder should be
whisked and set aside.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together oil,
sugar, egg, and vanilla. Thereafter,
add flour mixture, and stir to
combine. Following this, mix in oats
and currants.
5. 3. using two tablespoons of dough per
cookie, roll into balls. Then, place them
on two baking sheets lined with
parchment paper, 1 and ½ inches apart.
Bake until lightly browned, 15 to 17
minutes, rotating sheets halfway
through.
4. Cool 5 minutes on sheets, then
transfer cookies to a wire rack to let
them cool down completely.
6. You can also make egg-less butter cookies at home. Follow the recipe
mentioned below for the same :
Ingredients :
1. 1 cup butter softened
2. ½ cup granulated sugar
3. ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
4. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
5. 2.25 cup all purpose flour
6. 1 teaspoon baking powder
7. 1.75 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips/chunks
8. Optional nuts
7. Procedure:
1. The oven should be preheated
to 350F for 15 minutes.
2. Grease baking sheets or line it
with parchment paper.
3. The butter and sugar should
be beaten together in a large
bowl until pale and creamy (for 5
minutes).
8. 4. Pour in the condensed milk, vanilla extract, and beat to combine.
5. The flour, cocoa, and baking powder should be sifted in a separate bowl
and combined well.
6. Stir into the butter mixture, and then add the chocolate chips and nuts, if
any. This should be blended well using a spatula. Don’t beat it.
7. Take a tablespoonful of dough, roll it and flatten it using your fingers.
Grease the tablespoon, so that the dough will fall of easily.
9. 8. This should be baked for 15-18 minutes, or
until it turns golden brown.
9. The cookies should be allowed to cool for 5
minutes in the baking sheet itself. Don’t try to
remove it. It may look unbaked but it will
become hard on the baking sheet itself.
10. After 5-10 minutes, the cookies are to be
transferred to a wire rack to let them cool
completely. This should be done using a
spatula.
