Why I Want To Go To College
Dreams are shaped by ideals and families shape the beliefs we grasp so strongly. Someday I want
to change lives through an engineering career. My family has taught me that change can be
positive and that change is the law of life. I hope to improve my life as well as the lives of others
around me by creating something wonderful.
I want to go to college because when I was eleven I set a goal to become the first person in my
family to get a bachelor's degree. I have always loved to learn new things, and getting a good
education will open the door to many job opportunities. It will give me stability in the ever–changing
economy. Going to college will make it so I can make more money that way I can provide a good
house for my future family and a promising future for my kids.
One of my goals in life will be to travel the world. I want to go to Machu Picchu, Peru, Italy, and
France. I would love to go to Paraguay to visit the...show more content...
When I set a goal I work at it until I reach it. I am always setting new goals to help challenge
myself and to make myself better. I am a quick learner and I love to help others. One of my
strengths is that I know my own limits. I am a team player and I am very trustworthy. My dad has
taught me ever since I was a little kid that being honest, loyal, and that being a man of integrity is
very important. I am good at managing my time, problem solving, and I have great mathematical
skills. I am in an advanced math course. Something that I am not good at is being coordinated, I
am a really clumsy person. I am not good at athletic activities. I can be selfish, sometimes I
struggle with sharing things with my younger sister. I am a shy person. I used to be really messy
when I was a kid. I was one of those kids that would shove everything into a closet or hide it under
the bed when I had to clean my room. Now I have gotten a lot better at being organized. Being
organized has been able to help me keep track of my

Why I Decided To Go To College Essay
I decided to go to college because I believe that education is an important part of life and that being
educated has many advantages. Like many, one of the biggest reasons for deciding to attend college
is to create a better future for myself. Being a first–generation college student my parents have
implanted on me the importance of college education, as it is something they wish they would
have done themselves. As the first of four children to go to college, I feel that it is my
responsibility to be a good example to my younger siblings, and show them that it is important to
have goals in life and to better yourself as a person through education. I understand that an
university education may not be for everyone, but it felt like the right choice for me. What I hope
to get out of college is a life–changing experience, not only to get a better education, but to find
something I am truly passionate about. I think it is important when choosing a career or a major to
find something your heart truly wants and not just a career that will make you able to afford
expensive things. I also hope that somewhere along the path to graduation and adulthood, I find
myself as a person and develop ideas, opinions, and to be able to approach the world with an...show

I also wanted to go to an in–state university, so that I could be close to my family. ASU was the
only state school to offer such a program for students like me that are un–sure on which career path
they want to take or need guidance pinpointing themselves to a certain area of study. I also feel that
ASU being one of the biggest universities in the nation has many more opportunities for their
students in contrast to going to a smaller

Why I Want To Go To College Application Essay
As the first in my family to even have the opportunity to go to college, making my parents proud is
an important motivation, but I primarily seek a higher education in hopes of someday becoming a
successful Foreign Service Officer (FSO). I dream of making an impact on people's lives by bridging
the United States with foreign nations and extending the promise of better opportunity to those in
need. However, effectual FSOs must master many abilities, including critical thinking, writing, and
cultural adaptability. I believe that going to college would be the most effective way to prepare for
the FSO test and career path. In pursuit of a Foreign Service career, I decided to enroll in college
as an International Relations major. The schools I researched offered professors with years of
relevant experience already under their belts, and by attending college, I would have the opportunity
to personally get to know and learn from seasoned veterans. Unlike high school teachers, college
professors likely will not spoon feed information to anyone. This would pressure me to develop
critical thinking skills,...show more content...
While trying new foods is certainly one way to develop cultural adaptability, there is much more to
cultures than just their cuisine. It is far more crucial to try to understand people of different
backgrounds when seeking to expand one's world view. We must recognize that not everyone in the
world shares our opinions, and that a degree of conflict is inevitable. Cultural adaptability attributes
to our response in the face of conflict, influencing us to assess the situation with logic rather than raw
emotion. The school I plan to attend attracts thousands of students from across the world,
contributing to a unique community which students can learn from. College would introduce me to
a plethora of new people and situations, helping me to grow and develop a clearer world

Essay On Why I Want To Attend College
Like many immigrants, my parents moved to Canada, from China, in order to give me a better
life, and lessen the burden on my future by providing me with better opportunities. As the oldest
child in my family, I will be the first to attend university. I received an early admission to McGill
University for their Bachelor of Science program; I will be majoring in either biochemistry,
physiology, or psychology. My aspirations at McGillUniversity stems from its top medical–doctorate
programs, its intensive focus on research, and the overall liberal and accepting belief aura of the
school. Although, my parents are able to somewhat support me through my bachelor's degree,
however, they are also sponsoring an international student, who is my cousin on my dad's side.

I saved all of my earnings from my summer internship, part–time job, and other small awards in order
to cover my tuition and living expenses. By the time I attend university, I will have saved a
portion of my first year's tuition. Therefore, I am seeking aid for the portion of the expenses that I
could not cover on my own, especially residence and living costs. Receiving this scholarship will
allow me to focus on my studies, as well, take away the financial burden on my parents. As a young
child, I always valued independence and feared being a burden to those around me, especially those
that I care for. During my education, I will continue to seek opportunities for summer internships in
my field of study to finance my second year's tuition, at the same time I will focus on my courses
as they are my top priorities. Thank you for taking the time to read my application and to consider
me for this scholarship. Through my future ambitions, I aim to uphold the values of Mr. and Mrs.
Van den Brink as well as those of other esteemed McGill alumni, and make a lasting impact on the

Essay On Why I Want To Go To College
For most young adults, college is the next stage of their life after graduating from high school.
People want to go to college for many different reasons; they would be a first generation student,
their dream job requires them to receive higher education, or simply want to get a good paying job
in which a college degree can really help with that. However, college is so insanely expensive today
that it brings up the question whether or not the degree is really worth all the loans students are
having to take out. Most students receive some sort of help with paying for college, anything from
financial aid to student loans. With the latter, the students graduating are feeling the weight of the
burden of having to pay back all that they owe. Student debts can cause college graduates to delay

Today, about one–third of student loans are unsubsidized. For unsubsidized loans, interest costs
accrue to student borrowers as soon as their loan funds are disbursed. (Fossey, p.11). This means that
for a certain time, the government stepped in and paid for the accumulating increases in the interest
of student loans while the student was still taking classes. Nevertheless, a majority of college
students take out the other type of loan in which the government does not pay for the accumulating
increase, the student actually does and it begins the minute they take out the loan. This is what
causes the pile of student loans that graduated student find themselves under because they owe so
much more than they took out, and ultimately are swallowed whole because of the amount that
they owe. So many graduate students are affected by this and one lady named Linda talks about
her personal story, "I'm sitting on over $180,000 in student loans, and will never be able to pay it off
in full based on my age and income"

Why I Want To Go To College Essay
Ever since I've been deciding what college I want to go to in the future, it was hard choosing the
top three colleges I wanted to go to because I didn't know the major I really want to study. As I

science. This resulted me that the top three colleges I want to apply to are Harvard University,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stony Brook University.Ever since I wanted to go to
Massachusetts Institute of Technology as part of my top three choices, this was my first choice
because the top major that I really wanted to study was informational technology. This topcollege

One of my biggest accomplishments was to be able to attend college. As a first generation low

drastically for the better of me and my family. Without my loving, supportive and caring parents, I
do not think that I would be where I am right now. As an only child, my parents have always been

Unfortunately, I had friends who were into gangs, did not care about school and their future
goals. Instead of me backing up from them so that they were not a bad influence on me I decided
to be the influence on them. I reached out for counseling in my school for them, some did make a
difference and others did not care about changing their lives. Seeing my friends going through
tough times in their lives and not wanting to persuade a higher education, encouraged me to
become stronger and more passionate about having a better education for me and a better future
for my family. I have cousins my age and younger who are already married, have children and did
not consider obtaining a degree. Many doubted my potential to go to college because they thought
that I would become like them. I believe things happen in life for a reason and those things
whether good or bad, make us stronger. Until this day, I do not let any bad influences get into my
life. When friends invite me over to a party, I prioritize school over partying. Some call me boring,
but they do not understand that my education is my life at the moment, and that I should not take it
for granted. College is definitely making me a stronger knowledgeable person and makes me cherish
the smallest things in life because many do not have these

most important thing I have been looking for in a university is a sense of community. Although
Massachusetts to New York wouldn't be that grand of a move, it will be a move that I am
embarking on by myself. Due to my previous explorations, it was apparent that Syracuse has the
academics I am looking for but I also wanted to be at a university where the people

Common knowledge is that students who go to college make more money. "It is estimated that a
full–time year–round worker with a bachelor's degree would earn nearly $1 million more than an
individual with just a high school diploma or GED" (Kantrowitz 1). While this increase in salary is
statistically a proven fact, it is not the only reason someone should go to college. This knowledge
creates youth who are hungry for power and money. "To almost everyone, university education is a
means to an end" (Edmundson 1). Students learn only what they think they will need for a job
and focus little on learning. Nowadays, students are so obsessed with materialistic items, like the
newest iPhone, the latest fashion, and the coolest car. They blindly follow social media trends and
what they believe to be modern "culture." For these youth, earning money is the only goal of life
and their only motivational force is money. These money driven individuals choose degrees that
they have no interest in and may not be any good at just because the job makes lots of money.
Money matters because people must pay for a house and food, however, there is a lot more to
consider when choosing a career path, because at the end of the day the most important thing is

want to grow as a person – no matter what field in college I end up going into – I want more. I want
to be smarter, I want to be happier, and college will lead me to that. Hopefully, these classes will do

[BODY PARAGRAPH 1] The first reason I decided to attend college is because I am currently in
a job that has no promotion potential. Going to college, and completing my bachelor's degree
would make me more qualified for positions that I am currently not qualified for. Secondly by
completing my degree I would be as competitive as my peers. This would provide the best chance
at being promoted in my new career field. In addition attending college has given me the
opportunity to work with different computer programs that I had not used prior to going to
college. I am able to use Microsoft word, excel, power point, and project management. I have
developed new skills that I can use when I switch careers. Furthermore by switching careers to a job
that has opportunities will help reduce stress. A lot of my stress is caused by searching for a job,
redoing my resume, and going on job interviews. As a result when I complete my degree I will be

This will help me save for my retirement, because I will have more money. I will be able to

this will give me the ability to afford nice things that I cannot afford. For example I would like to be
able to afford a trip to Hawaii, or afford a bigger house. Lastly I would be able to provide for my
family by earning more money. I would be able to pay for my kids' education. This would provide
them with better options for their future. I would be able to give my family a piece of mind,
because they would be able to live a comfortable life without having to worry about food, shelter, or

College Essay : Why I Want To Go To College
There might be a time where people ask you, "why are you in college" or "why to decide to go to
college." People might reply by saying that they want a degree, that they want a higher paying
job, or they need that for a future career that they are pursuing. Those responses are the most
typical reason of why people go to college. Sure you can say that having a degree means that a
person can get a better job with better pay rather than working in the manual labor fields with
minimum pay. A college degree is the fundamental stepping stone to the future, it lays the
foundation of where to start. College is everything to me; I'm in college so I'm able to unlock
more potential in myself, to be able to make my mother proud with everything that she has done
and hopefully becoming the first. Since I was a child, my mother would tell me to try my hardest
in school. She told me thought thing because as a child, she never had the opportunity to go to
school. She only completed up to 4th grade, because her family couldn't pay the tuition to attend.
She would had to wake up at 4oclock in the morning to sell food, to make a living for her family.
We were fortunate enough to be able to come to the United States in 2005, but tragedy happens a
year later. She received a phone call, saying that my father was in a serious car accident, on the
night of Christmas Eve, he passed away. Since then my mother, became a single mother having to
support two children by herself in a new country. There

Why I Want To Go To College Essay
College has always been a place I wanted to go to ever since I was in middle school. I first found
out about the importance and the value of college my six grade year of middle school. We were
always referred to as the class of 2023 which back then seemed unrealistic, but now it is very
much a reality. Not only was it important to go to college but it was essential to go and complete
all four years. Being exposed to the idea of college at such a young age allowed me to become
passionate about it and value higher education. I want to go to college because of the examples
my siblings have been able to set for me. Growing up, my parents always had higher expectations
for all my siblings and I . Knowing that my siblings were able to achieve and exceed my parents
expectations makes me want to work just as hard as them. I want to follow in my siblings
footsteps and set an example for my younger siblings. College is my opportunity to attain the
higher education I always wanted to have. I know that going to college will give me the
experience and knowledge I need to have a successful future. Going to college better prepares me

on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education,

also blessed that my parents and Aunt and Uncle support me, and push me to my fullest potential.
With every great person, there are others behind them supporting them. One person that inspired
me was, Dr. Yvonne Thornton, her story reminded me of myself. For example; when she stated
her father brought her a car so she would never have to get in the car with a male (something my
dad did). Also her rabbit theory, which is the way my family taught me, never cheat, but always
learn from the next whether dealing with life or school. My Aunt Brenda and Uncle Cliff also
inspired me in many ways. All my life I saw them be nothing but the best, they taught me lessons
of life, how to be better, and how to treat others. My Aunt and Uncle taught me always do better
than before, never let anybody tell me I'm not good enough, only except or higher. I can honestly

College is a doorway necessary for any individual to acquire a job and succeed in life. At most, I
think it will take 6 years for me to go through college, including grad school. Currently, my goal is
to complete high school, either take the SAT or ACT, and get into a good college. However, I do
not want to go to college just because of its reputation, but because it accommodates my

According to a survey, 55 percent of higher–ed graduates thinks college prepared them for a job.
Another 74 percent of graduates said it gave them intellectual growth, in addition, 69 percent said
it gave them maturity ("Is College Worth It?"). This proves college is an important stepping
stone for those graduates and the preparation given to them helped them grow. In today's job
market, 63% of jobs require a degree, it is nearly impossible to find a job suitable for standard
living with only a high school diploma. As a matter of fact, the amount of jobs that require a
degree are growing at a rapid rate. Furthermore, graduates made approximately 98 percent more per
hour than people without a diploma (Paquette). A degree from college is huge step up financially,
especially in California, where housing expenses are among the highest in the states. However, the
costs of college outweighed the benefits of preparing them for the future. Colleges often charge
more money for education than one can afford, people are often left with massive amounts of debt
after graduating. As a result, it negatively affects their future endeavors in life with a huge burden
over their heads. On the other hand, the job opportunities that come with an education can
effortlessly pay the loans you beared during college. For example, the most lucrative engineering

Essays On Why I Want To Go To College

  • 1. Why I Want To Go To College Dreams are shaped by ideals and families shape the beliefs we grasp so strongly. Someday I want to change lives through an engineering career. My family has taught me that change can be positive and that change is the law of life. I hope to improve my life as well as the lives of others around me by creating something wonderful. I want to go to college because when I was eleven I set a goal to become the first person in my family to get a bachelor's degree. I have always loved to learn new things, and getting a good education will open the door to many job opportunities. It will give me stability in the ever–changing economy. Going to college will make it so I can make more money that way I can provide a good house for my future family and a promising future for my kids. One of my goals in life will be to travel the world. I want to go to Machu Picchu, Peru, Italy, and France. I would love to go to Paraguay to visit the...show more content... When I set a goal I work at it until I reach it. I am always setting new goals to help challenge myself and to make myself better. I am a quick learner and I love to help others. One of my strengths is that I know my own limits. I am a team player and I am very trustworthy. My dad has taught me ever since I was a little kid that being honest, loyal, and that being a man of integrity is very important. I am good at managing my time, problem solving, and I have great mathematical skills. I am in an advanced math course. Something that I am not good at is being coordinated, I am a really clumsy person. I am not good at athletic activities. I can be selfish, sometimes I struggle with sharing things with my younger sister. I am a shy person. I used to be really messy when I was a kid. I was one of those kids that would shove everything into a closet or hide it under the bed when I had to clean my room. Now I have gotten a lot better at being organized. Being organized has been able to help me keep track of my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Why I Decided To Go To College Essay I decided to go to college because I believe that education is an important part of life and that being educated has many advantages. Like many, one of the biggest reasons for deciding to attend college is to create a better future for myself. Being a first–generation college student my parents have implanted on me the importance of college education, as it is something they wish they would have done themselves. As the first of four children to go to college, I feel that it is my responsibility to be a good example to my younger siblings, and show them that it is important to have goals in life and to better yourself as a person through education. I understand that an university education may not be for everyone, but it felt like the right choice for me. What I hope to get out of college is a life–changing experience, not only to get a better education, but to find something I am truly passionate about. I think it is important when choosing a career or a major to find something your heart truly wants and not just a career that will make you able to afford expensive things. I also hope that somewhere along the path to graduation and adulthood, I find myself as a person and develop ideas, opinions, and to be able to approach the world with an...show more content... I also wanted to go to an in–state university, so that I could be close to my family. ASU was the only state school to offer such a program for students like me that are un–sure on which career path they want to take or need guidance pinpointing themselves to a certain area of study. I also feel that ASU being one of the biggest universities in the nation has many more opportunities for their students in contrast to going to a smaller Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Why I Want To Go To College Application Essay As the first in my family to even have the opportunity to go to college, making my parents proud is an important motivation, but I primarily seek a higher education in hopes of someday becoming a successful Foreign Service Officer (FSO). I dream of making an impact on people's lives by bridging the United States with foreign nations and extending the promise of better opportunity to those in need. However, effectual FSOs must master many abilities, including critical thinking, writing, and cultural adaptability. I believe that going to college would be the most effective way to prepare for the FSO test and career path. In pursuit of a Foreign Service career, I decided to enroll in college as an International Relations major. The schools I researched offered professors with years of relevant experience already under their belts, and by attending college, I would have the opportunity to personally get to know and learn from seasoned veterans. Unlike high school teachers, college professors likely will not spoon feed information to anyone. This would pressure me to develop critical thinking skills,...show more content... While trying new foods is certainly one way to develop cultural adaptability, there is much more to cultures than just their cuisine. It is far more crucial to try to understand people of different backgrounds when seeking to expand one's world view. We must recognize that not everyone in the world shares our opinions, and that a degree of conflict is inevitable. Cultural adaptability attributes to our response in the face of conflict, influencing us to assess the situation with logic rather than raw emotion. The school I plan to attend attracts thousands of students from across the world, contributing to a unique community which students can learn from. College would introduce me to a plethora of new people and situations, helping me to grow and develop a clearer world Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay On Why I Want To Attend College Like many immigrants, my parents moved to Canada, from China, in order to give me a better life, and lessen the burden on my future by providing me with better opportunities. As the oldest child in my family, I will be the first to attend university. I received an early admission to McGill University for their Bachelor of Science program; I will be majoring in either biochemistry, physiology, or psychology. My aspirations at McGillUniversity stems from its top medical–doctorate programs, its intensive focus on research, and the overall liberal and accepting belief aura of the school. Although, my parents are able to somewhat support me through my bachelor's degree, however, they are also sponsoring an international student, who is my cousin on my dad's side. Because my extended...show more content... I saved all of my earnings from my summer internship, part–time job, and other small awards in order to cover my tuition and living expenses. By the time I attend university, I will have saved a portion of my first year's tuition. Therefore, I am seeking aid for the portion of the expenses that I could not cover on my own, especially residence and living costs. Receiving this scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies, as well, take away the financial burden on my parents. As a young child, I always valued independence and feared being a burden to those around me, especially those that I care for. During my education, I will continue to seek opportunities for summer internships in my field of study to finance my second year's tuition, at the same time I will focus on my courses as they are my top priorities. Thank you for taking the time to read my application and to consider me for this scholarship. Through my future ambitions, I aim to uphold the values of Mr. and Mrs. Van den Brink as well as those of other esteemed McGill alumni, and make a lasting impact on the science Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Essay On Why I Want To Go To College For most young adults, college is the next stage of their life after graduating from high school. People want to go to college for many different reasons; they would be a first generation student, their dream job requires them to receive higher education, or simply want to get a good paying job in which a college degree can really help with that. However, college is so insanely expensive today that it brings up the question whether or not the degree is really worth all the loans students are having to take out. Most students receive some sort of help with paying for college, anything from financial aid to student loans. With the latter, the students graduating are feeling the weight of the burden of having to pay back all that they owe. Student debts can cause college graduates to delay ...show more content... Today, about one–third of student loans are unsubsidized. For unsubsidized loans, interest costs accrue to student borrowers as soon as their loan funds are disbursed. (Fossey, p.11). This means that for a certain time, the government stepped in and paid for the accumulating increases in the interest of student loans while the student was still taking classes. Nevertheless, a majority of college students take out the other type of loan in which the government does not pay for the accumulating increase, the student actually does and it begins the minute they take out the loan. This is what causes the pile of student loans that graduated student find themselves under because they owe so much more than they took out, and ultimately are swallowed whole because of the amount that they owe. So many graduate students are affected by this and one lady named Linda talks about her personal story, "I'm sitting on over $180,000 in student loans, and will never be able to pay it off in full based on my age and income" Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 8. Why I Want To Go To College What motivated me to start college where my kids and my self I always wanted to go to college and I did try before, but because of one reason or another I had to stop. I always felt that I was meant to finish college and proof to my self that I could do anything that I set my mine too, and also I because I want my kids to see that if you work hard and set your mine on what you want you could do anything. College is not going to be easy but I have never been so ready to go for what I want. As a person I want to grow and learn new things. • 9. Why I Want To Attend College Essay One of my biggest accomplishments was to be able to attend college. As a first generation low income student who immigrated to the United States, I have struggled to maintain my education as a free resource for my future. Never would I have thought that my life would change so drastically for the better of me and my family. Without my loving, supportive and caring parents, I do not think that I would be where I am right now. As an only child, my parents have always been there for me. They have sacrificed so much to give me a better education and that means a lot for me, therefore I want to give back to them more than they gave me. I have seen my dad struggled in his job and I have experienced the hardships of working in his job myself. Working...show more content... Unfortunately, I had friends who were into gangs, did not care about school and their future goals. Instead of me backing up from them so that they were not a bad influence on me I decided to be the influence on them. I reached out for counseling in my school for them, some did make a difference and others did not care about changing their lives. Seeing my friends going through tough times in their lives and not wanting to persuade a higher education, encouraged me to become stronger and more passionate about having a better education for me and a better future for my family. I have cousins my age and younger who are already married, have children and did not consider obtaining a degree. Many doubted my potential to go to college because they thought that I would become like them. I believe things happen in life for a reason and those things whether good or bad, make us stronger. Until this day, I do not let any bad influences get into my life. When friends invite me over to a party, I prioritize school over partying. Some call me boring, but they do not understand that my education is my life at the moment, and that I should not take it for granted. College is definitely making me a stronger knowledgeable person and makes me cherish the smallest things in life because many do not have these Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Why I Want To Go To College As a lover of basketball from a young age, what originally attracted me to Syracuse was it's standings in college basketball. As college began to approach I decided to look into the school which holds my favorite college basketball team. While exploring Syracuse I realized that the university has qualities that I look for as I embark on my undergraduate years as a young adult. The most important thing I have been looking for in a university is a sense of community. Although Massachusetts to New York wouldn't be that grand of a move, it will be a move that I am embarking on by myself. Due to my previous explorations, it was apparent that Syracuse has the academics I am looking for but I also wanted to be at a university where the people Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Common knowledge is that students who go to college make more money. "It is estimated that a full–time year–round worker with a bachelor's degree would earn nearly $1 million more than an individual with just a high school diploma or GED" (Kantrowitz 1). While this increase in salary is statistically a proven fact, it is not the only reason someone should go to college. This knowledge creates youth who are hungry for power and money. "To almost everyone, university education is a means to an end" (Edmundson 1). Students learn only what they think they will need for a job and focus little on learning. Nowadays, students are so obsessed with materialistic items, like the newest iPhone, the latest fashion, and the coolest car. They blindly follow social media trends and what they believe to be modern "culture." For these youth, earning money is the only goal of life and their only motivational force is money. These money driven individuals choose degrees that they have no interest in and may not be any good at just because the job makes lots of money. Money matters because people must pay for a house and food, however, there is a lot more to consider when choosing a career path, because at the end of the day the most important thing is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The one thing I am certain about is that I want to attend University of Illinois in Chicago. I've lived my whole life thinking about going into business or marketing, but I'm so unsure because I want to make the right decision. • 14. Why I Decided To Go To College Essay [BODY PARAGRAPH 1] The first reason I decided to attend college is because I am currently in a job that has no promotion potential. Going to college, and completing my bachelor's degree would make me more qualified for positions that I am currently not qualified for. Secondly by completing my degree I would be as competitive as my peers. This would provide the best chance at being promoted in my new career field. In addition attending college has given me the opportunity to work with different computer programs that I had not used prior to going to college. I am able to use Microsoft word, excel, power point, and project management. I have developed new skills that I can use when I switch careers. Furthermore by switching careers to a job that has opportunities will help reduce stress. A lot of my stress is caused by searching for a job, redoing my resume, and going on job interviews. As a result when I complete my degree I will be able to get the job that I want, and reduce stress in my life. [BODY PARAGRAPH 2]...show more content... This will help me save for my retirement, because I will have more money. I will be able to contribute more money to my retirement plan than I am currently able to contribute. Lastly I would be able to provide for my family by earning more money. I would be able to pay for my kids' education. This would provide them with better options for their future. I would be able to give my family a piece of mind, because they would be able to live a comfortable life without having to worry about food, shelter, or the basics. • 15. College Essay : Why I Want To Go To College There might be a time where people ask you, "why are you in college" or "why to decide to go to college." People might reply by saying that they want a degree, that they want a higher paying job, or they need that for a future career that they are pursuing. Those responses are the most typical reason of why people go to college.
