Peer Reflection Essay
During the past eight weeks of this course I enjoyed learning so many new writing strategies that
I did not know before. This course has been a very intense and challenging class, with much
knowledgeable information that I have gained in these short eight weeks. I will explain the things
I have learned over this time such as, how I selected a topic for my persuasive essay, some key
concepts I have learned from my research, my peer review feedback evaluations, how my
classmates helped me understand points of view, and how my classmates provided me with additional
writing strategies. When trying to find a good topic for my persuasive essay it seemed to be a bit of
a struggle. I chose teen pregnancy and to convince my readers the cons of early...show more content...

When I first started to read her paper, I knew from the start it defiantly wasn't a topic I was
interested in. As I continued to read I starting to instantly get a feel for her standpoint and
immediately was interested. With the great supporting evidence she had obtained it really made
me more interested in her point of view. Reading other classmates essays really gave me and
opening eye to the different thinking we all have as individuals. We do not all think as one, we all

An Introduction to Globalization Essay
Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it
generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially
America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of
globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the
developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social
inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily
triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of
communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content...
We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the
Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite
different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you
are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India,
America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of
technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is
political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries,
which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the
activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the
dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized
world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their
self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent
on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other
national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the
international political elite. The last set

Perspectives
Life Span & Introduction to Sociology
PSYC–2314–S03
In class we have been discussing the analogy of perspectives. A perspective is a way of seeing,
also thought of as a 'point of view'. This mental view or outlook can both enhance and constrain
how we view the world in our own eyes. In the field of psychology and sociology there are many
ways to perceive our world in which we live. No one perspective alone can define the world. Each
perspective has its own distinctive strengths and blind spots. In class we have discussed different
theories and analogies to better understand the complexity of perspectives. Perspectives will both
facilitate and constrain perception. A good example of this statement is the Burke...show more

Even when that one perspective may not be the most accurate way of viewing something in a
particular situation, it can be tempting neglect other perspectives or "tools". The example given
in class was Freud and his psychosexual theories. Freud believed that everything we did was a
result of our sexual desires. Freud's only "tool", or perspective, was this belief , and he used it
when viewing everything, even when it may have not been the best "tool for the job". Most of us
have heard the term "seeing is believing", but in class we discussed that "believing is seeing".
When you already believe something and have an idea implanted in your memory it will alter
what you think you are seeing. In class we observed many slides of different pictures portraying
how believing is seeing. One specific example from the slide show was one image that contained
two completely different pictures depending on how you looked at the picture. Before showing
us the image for the first time the pervious slide stated "Cowboys Crossing the Creek". When the
image appeared you automatically saw cowboys on horses crossing a creek. Then we were shown
a slide stating "Faces Everywhere". This time when the same exact image was shown for the
second time, you saw faces everywhere in the image. This is because you already had an idea placed
in your mind causing you to see what you already believe. Referring to the familiar

Different Types Of Psychology Today Essay
There are seven different types of psychology today. The first is psychodynamic which branches off
of Freud's approach to the mind. It reviews internal thoughts, the unconscious mind, and internal
conflicts as what drives and affects a person's behavior. Behavioral psychology is exactly what it
sounds like. It's the study of human behavior which is influenced by external factors therefore
excluding any thing that is related to internal thoughts. This perspective says humans behave not
because of what they think or how they feel, but how the world works around them. The opposite of
this perspective is humanistic which excludes all stimuli outside the brain and instead focuses on
people's ability to make choices and one's motivation and qualities as what affects someone's
behavior. The Cognitive perspective focuses directly on the brain and how it functions and computes
the information it receives. It wants to know if memory, perception, and problem solving can
influence someone's behavior. Genetics and inheritance are considered in the Biological perspective.
Intelligence, patience, and anger are all studied to be present in certain genes. The evolutionary style
looks at animals through the lense of adaptation and how natural selection and time have shaped
them to be how they behave today. Finally there is sociocultural which considers how someone's
culture can affect how they behave. Many countries have a different idea on how a person should act
which in turn

Different Types of Love Essay
"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love
is a growing up." –James A. Baldwin. The author, Baldwin talks about the fact that we assume love
starts once you meet that person and it ends when you die, but love is everlasting and is a part of
you from the very beginning. In his quote he also says that we will face different types of love, while
growing up. Films are made about it, books, songs, and poems are written. Artists draw, paint and
sculpt from inspiration of it and people spend their entire lives waiting for it. In dictionaries love is
defined as a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection but it is more than just a deep
connection. Its more than deep connections...show more content...
This is why mother sends out more of a warm fuzzy feeling than the father. Family love is the type
of love that every human being encounters throughout his or her lifetime. It's the very first and
less painful type of love. Parental love isn't the only part of family love. Sibling love is a big part
to. Sibling rivalry starts when the second child is born and the 1st child starts to feel alienated and
abandoned. Even though siblings are like archenemies, they have the most caring love. Since they
are closer through blood, they have the ability to protect each other and fight for each other.
Another main type of love is the love that is felt towards friends. This love is felt less when younger
because when you are younger you are accompanied more by parental love and attention. But when
grown older, parents become busier that the kid will start creating their own bonds and connections
with other children their age. This would start a friendship. After people make new friends they start
to become more dependent and more trusting until they feel like they are one person with their
friend. Having common interests, similar history, common values, and equality draws people to be
together as friends. Psychologically when one friend feels pain the other friend feels it because of
the bond created between them. In their mind they have automatically "connected" themselves with
that person. But friendship is the hardest to find because you're not

Essay about the human brain
In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't
the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how
complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has
main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia
holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain
on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the
right hemisphere. The left hemisphere has about the same areas as the right hemisphere. The only

The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes
and processes information concerning touch, pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the
thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions such
as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are
controlled. In the temporal lobe expressed behavior is controlled. The parietal lobe discriminates
sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves
going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray
area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts
out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual
cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for
analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and
making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The
cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain.
If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion
has changed after reading his paper. It is amazing how god has created the brain to have so many

Cell Phones And Negative Essay
Cell phones have been a huge topic for numerous reasons. Problems cellphones cause is a
common theme in writing, even in the essays that are in the textbook, Successful College
Writing. There are so many different reasons for cellphones, or even just technology, to be a huge
topic for essays. In this textbook, there are different ways, or methods, for writers to express their
opinions on how technology or cell phones are affecting lives around the world. One essay that
discusses how cell phones affect our daily life is "Alone Together: Why We Expect More from
Technology and Less from Each Other". The author of this essay, Sherry Turkle, talks about how
people are talking less face–to–face and more through technology. Turkle gives numerous examples
in her essay that help her get her point across such as, "Her grandmother could see Ellen's face on
the screen by not her hands. Ellen admitted to me, 'I do my email during the calls. I'm not really
paying attention to our conversation'"(Turkle 324). This shows that she was communicating with
her grandmother, but she was not really listening to the conversation because she was busy doing
other things. Although she was communicating, she was not really because she was focusing more
on something else. Another essay that is similar to Sherry Turkle's essay is an essay by Ian Frazier,
which is called "Dearly Disconnect". Frazier talks about the significance and sentimental value of
pay phones. He also explains how cell phones are the

Types of Friends Essay
There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people
to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do
you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of
friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with
positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are
the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend

They can learn to get some confidence because confidence is really important in order to perform
better. Being an overconfident person is also beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our
performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust
and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in
the future. I have a friend that is really confident that when he performed for a speech competition at
school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition.
We can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the
thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into something good. We have to be able to
measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed.
Being a competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in
everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will work and study harder than any
other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks
on test or get an extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know
that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a friend that is competitive. She is
so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get
the best scores

Figurative Language Essays
Figurative Language and Imagery
ENG 340 Creative Writing
Whenever you describe something by comparing it with something else, you are using figurative
language. Figurative language is the use of language to describe something by comparing it to
something else. It serves many linguistic purposes. It allows people to express abstract thoughts. It
creates tone and communicates emotional content. The ability to use figurative language in writing
can make a poem or story more enjoyable for the reader. Figurative language is taking words
beyond their literal meaning and can come in many different forms, all to create a vivid picture of
the written word. There are many ways to incorporate figurative language into writing, some of

In the line "Loose girdle of soft rain", from "My Grandmother's Love Letters", the rain is
compared to a loose belt, which is a clear example of Personification and much easier to

reader escape to another reality. Sometimes it can even be silly such as the repetition of the same
initial letter, sound, or group of sounds in a series of words. This usage of figurative language is
called Alliteration and includes tongue twisters such as "She sells seashells by the seashore".
Many writers will use words that describe or imitate a natural sound or the sound made by an
object to create imagery within the writing. This is called Onomatopoeia, and although it is a big
word that is hard to pronounce, it is the use of small words such as snap, crackle, pop, buzz and
creaked that help bring a story or poem to life. Another form of imagery that is used quite often is
Hyperbole. This is the use of statements that are so dramatic and exaggerated that a person would
not believe the statement is true. "I was so hungry that not only did I eat my dinner, I ate the plate
and silverware too." A synecdoche is a form of imagery that substitutes a whole object with one
aspect of that object. It may also be used to

Essay about Moving to Another Country
Typically, people like to think getting up and moving to another country is as easy as it sounds.
People leave their home countries for various reasons, to escape as a refugee, or immigrate for a
change in life. As easy as it seems to be there are so many roadblocks along the way. The country
was created thousands of years ago as the holy land but over time, it has gone through different
rulers and at many times the Jewish people of Israel was exiled and forced to leave the only country
they knew. The history of Israel is important because it dictates as to why immigration and leaving
that country to go to others in the Middle East is impossible. People have been dealing with war,
military, religious, and gender regulations in Israel...show more content...
Women in the Middle East hold little to no power, especially compared to women in the United
States. Women escaping these wars are women who have been oppressed by society; oppression
that a woman in the United States has never felt and gone through. Women are denied equal
education and rights, when dealing with a part of the world that has law made from religion and
military conflict, the man is in charge and women feel the biggest burn. In Israel, the biggest
conflict is revolves the Arabs against the Israelis; although it is one country it is split into two
sectors dividing its people, with different religious views and different practices there is a huge
problem.
In the face of this situation the Arab nation must adopt a resolute and deductive attitude to the parties

With half of the Israeli nation being split into Arab or Jewish, people do feel a huge amount of
aggression towards one another. The war between to the sides of the country results in wars that
will never be solved; the wars create problems among its people. With the problems among its
people, it is hard for citizens to live their everyday life. Women do feel the most hardship in wanting
to escape the country. All of these factors result into

How My Writing Has Changed Essay
My writing styles have changed drastically over the past four years of high school. This memo will
explain how my writing has changed and how my knowledge of writing has improved.
Aspects of My Writing during High School
During my English courses throughout high school, I learned many things from writing simple
journals, research papers, and a single term paper. During high school, I was laid back and
procrastinated for much of my work. During the latter part of high school when I wrote my term
paper my senior year, I found out that working a little every night writing a few paragraphs helped
me out greatly. I was not just throwing something together just to get the grade and the paper
finished. I spent time on the paper and...show more content...
I do this so the information is true, and also in order from which events have occurred. When I
wrote my term paper my senior year I was well organized. I was required to write about an event
in history. I chose India Uprising of 1877 as the topic of my paper. This topic was not interesting at
all, but I chose to write about it. When I finished writing my thesis and outline, I wrote note cards
about the different topics, which allowed me to gather all my information and organize it in which
different events occurred. When I was finished with the paper, it sounded and read consistently and it
all flowed together.
How These Experiences Prepared Me for College Writing
I have written many different types of papers for all of my classes throughout high school. For
my science classes, I have written several labs in the form of essays. Writing the essays was
different for me because I did not really know that science had much to do with writing. It took me
a while to gather all the information I needed to finish my lab assignments. Writing lab reports will
definitely help me in my science courses in the next four years.
The journals I have written came from my four years of high school English. Everyday I came to
class there would be a topic on the board. I took five minutes each day to write about the given
topic. It was brainstorming and giving our input on whatever the topic was. I think

Gender–based Violence
Gender–based violence is understood, explained, or justified in terms of gender roles, gender
difference, or gender inequality. Most of the violence is perpetrated by men against women. Gender
–based violence is often physical abuse, often involving sexuality, but it may also be psychological.
Violence against women occurs in every segment of society. It doesn't matter what class your in

German, French), or country (Europe, United States). Various forms of violence and coercion are

Although most of the public attention to sexual harassment has focused on specific relations within
workplaces, harassment also takes place in public places among strangers. This shows how
commonly women are subjected to "abuse, harryings, and annoyances" on the basis of their
gender, in spaces that are supposed to be open to everyone states Carol Brooks Gardner who
studied public harassment. There are three types of public harassment outlined by Carol Brooks
Gardner. The types are exclusionary (discouraged from entering a specific place), exploitative
(when men following women around and invade their privacy), and evaluative (unwanted
evaluations of their bodies, hair, or clothing). Often this behavior is trivialized as "people are just
playing around" or "just trying to be helpful". These types of experiences results in women being
fearful of going into public places. Even though sexual harassment laws have become stricter, most
women still do not complain about it for rear that they would be penalized for complaining.
Harassment amounts simply to taking the gender–based communication, which is easy for men to
fall into the habit of engaging in behavior that women find offensive and harmful (Sapiro, 397).
Sexual harassment has taken on more specific legal

Becoming a teacher can be an exciting and challenging experience for anyone. It can be quite
difficult to put four years of knowledge into their teaching and into a classroom environment. And
while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time.
A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning.
A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future
of those students depends on the qualities and the dedication of that teacher. It is the teacher who
creates an interest in students to develop and to progress. It is the teacher who helps the students
achieve whatever aims they set for themselves.

The curriculum then becomes more relevant, therefore the motivation for the students to accomplish
the tasks increases.
The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students'
curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are not going to want to learn it.
The classroom also has to be seen as a caring and supportive place with a sense of belonging. Every
student must feel respected, valued and heard. Giving children the support for learning by
welcoming their questions and encouraging exploration is very important for teachers to do.
Extrinsic motivators are sometimes used when teachers have a student or class who feels like they
have earn't something for their hard work. This could be things such as stickers or stamps on their
homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that
motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to
find out which type of motivation works best for which student to help them succeed.
Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how
students learn. Constructivism is the current approach to learning in Australian schools today.

Argumentative Essay On Lgbtq
Generally when people think about marriage they think about a man and a woman. In society today,
the expansion of gay marriages has increased significantly but quite a few people do not agree with
this community. Many think that the LGBTQ+ community is not morally correct and LGBTQ is
extremely frowned upon in religions. There has been multiple news articles about the LGBTQ being
threatened or getting discriminated upon. Luckily there are an abounding number of charities and
organizations to help with this discrimination on the community. Since the LGBTQ is a
controversial idea in the United States. Honeymaid, Nordstrom, and Campbells are working to fight
the freedom for the LGBTQ+ community by creating commercials and advertising how to be
themselves.
Honey Maid is one of the many brands that shows support towards the LGBTQ community. Honey
Maid's commercial shows the relationship and happiness the gay community has when it comes to
people accepting who they are on the inside. The video presents a gay couple starting a family
and living life like any other person would. As a response to the video, a reporter said "I think any
child would be lucky to have two dads like you" (Wong). Honey maid has made it clear to the world
that they support the LGBTQ+ community. With more expanding companies creating commercials
like Honey Maid, this organization is hoping to expand the topic and make the nation be accepting
of everyone regardless of sexuality preferences. This...show more content...
This is showing how different organizations can work and show different perspectives on the
LGBTQ community. This is important to the people as a whole to understand what this dystopia
actually is. So next time when the word "marriage" comes to mind, do not think it is only about a

Landscapes Essay
Take–Home Essay The world we live in today is always changing, whether it be technology or the
land. As these changes take place, society must adapt to them. Many things begin to change as a
result of this and society beings to turn into something completely different. One of the most
overlooked changes that takes place is that of the environment and landscape. The landscape is one
of the most important parts of our society's culture and has a great effect on how we live. It seems
that nowadays, many individuals are taking advantage of the land and nothing appreciating it for
every thing that it is worth. Its true that not everyone is going to look at the environment and
landscape in the same way, however that is no excuse to...show more content...
His views are like that of many people in society today. You don't have to be an environmentalist,
park ranger, or something along those lines to value the land. The landscape is necessary for
humans to understand the true meaning of the world. Things such as lakes, rivers, mountains,
trees, rocks, hills, and animals each play a specific and valuable role in the environment. Each
serves its own purpose, and without each, the environment and landscape would not be what it is.
For example, I use paper in my everyday life, and eat meat just about everyday, and these products
are from trees and animals, which both come from the landscape. I am very appreciative of these
things, and am very thankful to the landscape for them. I don't consider a situation such as this, as
"raping" the land or using the land in a negative way. Then again, some people may. If the animal
was close to becoming extinct or on a protection list, then I would definitely consider it "raping"
the land, or if the trees which were being used for paper products are coming from a protected
area, or an area scarce with trees, then that would also definitely be considered "raping" or
destroying the landscape. In "The Land Ethic" by Aldo Leopold, he says, "It is inconceivable to me
that an ethical relation to land can exist without love, respect, and admiration for land, and a high
regard for its value. By value, I of course mean something far broader than mere

This course has been a very intense and challenging class, with much knowledgeable information that I have gained in these short eight weeks. I will explain the things I have learned over this time such as, how I selected a topic for my persuasive essay, some key concepts I have learned from my research, my peer review feedback evaluations, how my classmates helped me understand points of view, and how my classmates provided me with additional writing strategies. • 4. An Introduction to Globalization Essay Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content... We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India, America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries, which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the international political elite. The last set Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Perspectives Essay examples Perspectives Life Span & Introduction to Sociology PSYC–2314–S03 In class we have been discussing the analogy of perspectives. A perspective is a way of seeing, also thought of as a 'point of view'. This mental view or outlook can both enhance and constrain how we view the world in our own eyes. In the field of psychology and sociology there are many ways to perceive our world in which we live. No one perspective alone can define the world. Each perspective has its own distinctive strengths and blind spots. In class we have discussed different theories and analogies to better understand the complexity of perspectives. Perspectives will both facilitate and constrain perception. A good example of this statement is the Burke...show more content... Even when that one perspective may not be the most accurate way of viewing something in a particular situation, it can be tempting neglect other perspectives or "tools". The example given in class was Freud and his psychosexual theories. Freud believed that everything we did was a result of our sexual desires. Freud's only "tool", or perspective, was this belief , and he used it when viewing everything, even when it may have not been the best "tool for the job". Most of us have heard the term "seeing is believing", but in class we discussed that "believing is seeing". When you already believe something and have an idea implanted in your memory it will alter what you think you are seeing. In class we observed many slides of different pictures portraying how believing is seeing. One specific example from the slide show was one image that contained two completely different pictures depending on how you looked at the picture. Before showing us the image for the first time the pervious slide stated "Cowboys Crossing the Creek". When the image appeared you automatically saw cowboys on horses crossing a creek. Then we were shown a slide stating "Faces Everywhere". This time when the same exact image was shown for the second time, you saw faces everywhere in the image. This is because you already had an idea placed in your mind causing you to see what you already believe. Referring to the familiar Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Different Types Of Psychology Today Essay There are seven different types of psychology today. The first is psychodynamic which branches off of Freud's approach to the mind. It reviews internal thoughts, the unconscious mind, and internal conflicts as what drives and affects a person's behavior. Behavioral psychology is exactly what it sounds like. It's the study of human behavior which is influenced by external factors therefore excluding any thing that is related to internal thoughts. This perspective says humans behave not because of what they think or how they feel, but how the world works around them. The opposite of this perspective is humanistic which excludes all stimuli outside the brain and instead focuses on people's ability to make choices and one's motivation and qualities as what affects someone's behavior. The Cognitive perspective focuses directly on the brain and how it functions and computes the information it receives. It wants to know if memory, perception, and problem solving can influence someone's behavior. Genetics and inheritance are considered in the Biological perspective. Intelligence, patience, and anger are all studied to be present in certain genes. The evolutionary style looks at animals through the lense of adaptation and how natural selection and time have shaped them to be how they behave today. Finally there is sociocultural which considers how someone's culture can affect how they behave. Many countries have a different idea on how a person should act which in turn Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The author, Baldwin talks about the fact that we assume love starts once you meet that person and it ends when you die, but love is everlasting and is a part of you from the very beginning. In his quote he also says that we will face different types of love, while growing up. Films are made about it, books, songs, and poems are written. This is why mother sends out more of a warm fuzzy feeling than the father. Family love is the type of love that every human being encounters throughout his or her lifetime. Sibling rivalry starts when the second child is born and the 1st child starts to feel alienated and abandoned. Even though siblings are like archenemies, they have the most caring love. Since they are closer through blood, they have the ability to protect each other and fight for each other. Another main type of love is the love that is felt towards friends. This love is felt less when younger because when you are younger you are accompanied more by parental love and attention. But when grown older, parents become busier that the kid will start creating their own bonds and connections with other children their age. This would start a friendship. After people make new friends they start to become more dependent and more trusting until they feel like they are one person with their friend. Having common interests, similar history, common values, and equality draws people to be together as friends. Although the brain isn't the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia holds the lentiform and the caudate. The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. The parietal lobe discriminates sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain. • 10. Cell Phones And Negative Essay Cell phones have been a huge topic for numerous reasons. Problems cellphones cause is a common theme in writing, even in the essays that are in the textbook, Successful College Writing. There are so many different reasons for cellphones, or even just technology, to be a huge topic for essays. In this textbook, there are different ways, or methods, for writers to express their opinions on how technology or cell phones are affecting lives around the world. One essay that discusses how cell phones affect our daily life is "Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each Other". The author of this essay, Sherry Turkle, talks about how people are talking less face–to–face and more through technology. Turkle gives numerous examples in her essay that help her get her point across such as, "Her grandmother could see Ellen's face on the screen by not her hands. Ellen admitted to me, 'I do my email during the calls. I'm not really paying attention to our conversation'"(Turkle 324). Sometimes it can even be silly such as the repetition of the same initial letter, sound, or group of sounds in a series of words. This usage of figurative language is called Alliteration and includes tongue twisters such as "She sells seashells by the seashore". Many writers will use words that describe or imitate a natural sound or the sound made by an object to create imagery within the writing. This is called Onomatopoeia, and although it is a big word that is hard to pronounce, it is the use of small words such as snap, crackle, pop, buzz and creaked that help bring a story or poem to life. Another form of imagery that is used quite often is Hyperbole. This is the use of statements that are so dramatic and exaggerated that a person would not believe the statement is true. This memo will explain how my writing has changed and how my knowledge of writing has improved. Aspects of My Writing during High School During my English courses throughout high school, I learned many things from writing simple journals, research papers, and a single term paper. During high school, I was laid back and procrastinated for much of my work. I was required to write about an event in history. I chose India Uprising of 1877 as the topic of my paper. This topic was not interesting at all, but I chose to write about it. When I finished writing my thesis and outline, I wrote note cards about the different topics, which allowed me to gather all my information and organize it in which different events occurred. When I was finished with the paper, it sounded and read consistently and it all flowed together. How These Experiences Prepared Me for College Writing I have written many different types of papers for all of my classes throughout high school. For my science classes, I have written several labs in the form of essays. Writing the essays was different for me because I did not really know that science had much to do with writing. It took me a while to gather all the information I needed to finish my lab assignments. Writing lab reports will definitely help me in my science courses in the next four years. The journals I have written came from my four years of high school English. Everyday I came to class there would be a topic on the board. I took five minutes each day to write about the given topic. It was brainstorming and giving our input on whatever the topic was. I think Get more content on HelpWriting.net

And while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time. A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning. A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future of those students depends on the qualities and the dedication of that teacher. The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students' curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are not going to want to learn it. The classroom also has to be seen as a caring and supportive place with a sense of belonging. Every student must feel respected, valued and heard. Giving children the support for learning by welcoming their questions and encouraging exploration is very important for teachers to do. Extrinsic motivators are sometimes used when teachers have a student or class who feels like they have earn't something for their hard work. This could be things such as stickers or stamps on their homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to find out which type of motivation works best for which student to help them succeed. Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how students learn. Constructivism is the current approach to learning in Australian schools today. His views are like that of many people in society today. You don't have to be an environmentalist, park ranger, or something along those lines to value the land. The landscape is necessary for humans to understand the true meaning of the world. Things such as lakes, rivers, mountains, trees, rocks, hills, and animals each play a specific and valuable role in the environment. Each serves its own purpose, and without each, the environment and landscape would not be what it is. For example, I use paper in my everyday life, and eat meat just about everyday, and these products are from trees and animals, which both come from the landscape. I am very appreciative of these things, and am very thankful to the landscape for them. I don't consider a situation such as this, as "raping" the land or using the land in a negative way. Then again, some people may. If the animal was close to becoming extinct or on a protection list, then I would definitely consider it "raping" the land, or if the trees which were being used for paper products are coming from a protected area, or an area scarce with trees, then that would also definitely be considered "raping" or destroying the landscape. In "The Land Ethic" by Aldo Leopold, he says, "It is inconceivable to me that an ethical relation to land can exist without love, respect, and admiration for land, and a high regard for its value.
