Analyzed and learnt the codes and conventions of on the front cover of a vibe
magazine.
Selected and analyzed the codes and conventions of a “kerrang!” magazine from the
area of my chosen subgenre of music.
Monday 16th September Learnt about Hartley’s subjective.
Leant Katz’ and Maslow’s theory’s.
Identified the stereotype and reader profile for my magazine.
Monday 23rd September Completed the survey monkey and questionnaire
2. Began brainstorming ideas for my preliminary task names.
Began my preliminary task on Photoshop.
Learnt basic Photoshop skills.
Monday 30th September Continued on the front cover of my preliminary task adding my main image and added
other codes and conventions.
Attended training for Photoshop skills at the academy class run by Tony Harmer.
Monday 7th October Completed my preliminary task on Photoshop, to a deadline, which I have met.
Built on my basic Photoshop skills and practiced the skills I learnt last week.
Monday 14th October Began construction my preliminary task contents page.
Drew up a draft for my contents page as a basic guideline for how the contents page
will be laid out.
Today I’ve began and completed my editorial segment in the contents page of my
preliminary task.
I have imported in my signature, which I’ve scanned in on a piece of paper and added
to my contents page using the marquee tool.
Add my headers for the different parts of my contents page and added my website and
my page number to the bottom of my contents page.
Monday 21st October Today I was given the deadline for the completion of my contents page and the
addition of any corrections to my preliminary task front cover.
Was given work to do over the half term.
I didn’t finish all the work that had to be done which will be completed in my spare
time after school or in a free lesson.

Monday 4th November Here I handed in the completed version of both preliminary task pages.
I started the planning for my main task front cover by drawing my hand drawn draft.
3. Monday 11th November Today I began work on my main task front cover.
Added my masthead, barcode, date, issue number, price and social networking links.
Today I thought up and added my strapline to my front cover.
Added my web address and completed my puff.
Started thinking of my headline and began constructing it in Photoshop.

Today I added my cover lines and added supporting pictures to my cover lines
Monday 18th November Today I began work on my main task contents page by drawing my hand drawn draft
and starting the construction of the contents page in Photoshop.
Received the corrections for my main task front cover and I intend to make them.
Monday 25th November Continued with my contents page construction adding my editorial, editor photo, and
signature and contact details.
Used the ruler tool to mark out where the other conventions on my contents page e.g.
the sub headings and photographs.
Monday 2nd December Continued with work on my main task contents page.
Added the secondary stories and supporting pictures to my contents page.
Handed in my main task contents page for marking.
Received the corrections for my main task contents page piece of work.
Monday 9th December Made the corrections that were suggested for the contents age.
Completed all the corrections for my contents page.
Monday 16th December Started on completing my research and planning corrections.

4. Monday 6th January Started work on my double page
Made my hand drawn draft
Began adding ruler lines to my Photoshop page
Monday 13th January Today I took my pictures for my double page spread and began adding in other
conventions like my drop capital; my main headline from my front cover and the page
numbers on the double pages.
Monday 20th January I began adding and editing my pictures to go into the double page.
Identified areas for improvement in my double page spread.
Positioned my drop capital, main headline and pictures
Added the ruler tools to show where my question and answers will be placed once
they have been completed.
Monday 10th February Returned to work on my blog page
Adding my hand drawn drafts to my blog page and further annotations of codes and
conventions on my chosen sub genre examples.
Monday 24th February Started making the results of my questionnaire into graphs as a way of presentencing
them on my blog page.
Began adding the graphs I have made onto a power point I have to make a slide share.
Monday 3rd February Today completed the answers for my evaluation on question 3
Started work on question 4 of my evaluation on the potential audience of my magazine
Monday 10th February Completed the work I started last week on question 4 of the evaluation.
Started and completed question 5 of the final evaluation.
Went back to my blog page to update it and add any completed work yet to be
uploaded on to the page.
Monday 17th February I made a slide share account and uploaded my work onto it so I could imbed my
preliminary task step-by-step guide and preliminary research on to the blog page.
Started question 6 of the evaluation.
5. Monday 24th February Completed question 6 of the evaluation.
Started and completed the final question, question 7, for my final evaluation.
Obtained opinions of friends and family on my final completed production work.
Monday 3rd March Added the evaluations and opinions of family and friends into the final evaluation
PowerPoint.
Uploaded the PowerPoint onto slide share and then from slide share I embedded onto
my blog page
Monday 10th March Made any last minute changes to my blog page, spelling, punctuation, grammar and
layout.
