The weekend concept has a number of aims. To present the Sony Cosmic Cube as a revolutionary design, to present Sony as an environmentally conscious and active community member, and to prove that superior creations come from the most natural of substances: biological waste. These motivations have pointed the event concept towards a clean, futuristic and crisp representation of innovation at its best with cool colours and a streamline design of surroundings, Sony shall continue as the ultimate leader in data technology.
Queensland is turning 150 years old in 2009 and already has a number of sponsors and corporate partners involved, including Channel Ten, Coca Cola and Qantus, whom Sony is connected quite amiably with. Even without this immediate connection to the state’s capital, Brisbane shows delegates what it is that Sony means by “Natural Intelligence.” Queensland has a reputation for an intelligent population, a booming tourist industry and being spoilt by mother nature. Queensland is host to five of Australia's 11 World Natural Heritage areas including one of the Wonders of the World – the Great Barrier Reef. Others include the Scenic Rim National Parks, Fraser Island, Riversleigh Fossil Fields, the Wet Tropics including Daintree National Park. If Sony wishes to continue its award-winning environmentally-friendly image, Queensland would be the perfect state to hold the Cosmic Cube Australian launch. Not only beautiful one day and sunny the next, Brisbane is known nationally as the smart state. Put this together with the undeniably rich landscapes of the lush greenery around you, and you will soon understand why we believe that Brisbane not only represents the Cosmic Cube’s “Natural Intelligence” slogan, but is the essence of everything created together by nature and man.
