content found on the web.
• Anything in a fixed format.

6. Copyright and Plagiarism.
• Definition of Plagiarism:
• Plagiarism is when you use someone else's
words or ideas and pass them off as your own

7. How to check if you are plagiarizing
information:
• “Ask yourself, "Would I know this if I
hadn't read it on that website or in that
book?" If the answer is no, list the
source,” (Kidshealth).

8. How to avoid plagiarism in school:
• Ask yourself if you already knew the
information you are using OR restating in your
own words. If you are unsure, cite the
information.
• Create a works cited or source list, depending
what your teacher prefers. These lists of
sources are often called the bibliography.
