The Basic Rule  of the Haiku I am first with five Then seven in the middle Five again to end So in summary… -A haiku has 3 lines. -There are 5 syllables in the first line, -7 syllables in the second line, -And 5 syllables again in the third line - i.e. a total of 17 (5+3+5) syllables altogether!
Haikus are usually about nature. They capture the feelings the poet has about it!
