Nevada’s wildland fire agencies work collaboratively through our Master Agreement. The agreement assures this effort through the formation of the NEVADA FIRE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

Fire Season Statistics This past fire season there were 452 wildland fires that burned 71,930 acres in the State of Nevada. The low acreage and the low number of fires was a result of weather patterns not producing thunderstorms and a low occurrence of lightning.

Weather and Climate in Nevada The NWS outlooks for May through July 2009 show a good chance of warmer than normal temperatures for the entire state. Precipitation outlooks has a slight chance of being below normal in the far north.
