• The perception you have greater
control
• The perception that this is the most
inexpensive alternative
Disadvantages:
• Limited expertise
• Takes focus away from core
responsibilities
• Difficult to scale
• Compliance risk
You can do it yourself or delegate
the job to current internal staff.

A PEO is a professional
employer organization. PEOs
provide small to midsize size
companies with outsourced
human resources services,
specifically employment and
HR management services.

What is Co-Employment?
• When working with a PEO for HR
services, your company enters into a
co-employment relationship called co-
employment.
• The PEO becomes the “employer of
record” with payroll and payroll tax
compliance, benefits administration,
workers' compensation and other HR-
related administrative tasks.
• Your company remains the “worksite
employer" and continues to retain day-
to-day control and direction of the
worksite employees.
