The purpose of music is for promotional purposes, the artist can promote
themselves, their single and their album. Modern video are now used to not
only entertain the audience but are also used to promote the sales of the
album.
A music video is short film which is usually around 3 minutes long which have
a song and imagery for the entertainment of the audience.
4. THE ROLE OF MTV
MTV changed the music industry as an artists started to produce music
videos to promote their sales. MTV became an influential source for pop culture and
entertainment, not only in America but in other parts of the world such as:
Europe, Asia, Latin America etc.
MTV led the way for music videos to be seen world wide, videos started to tell
stories for the audiences e.g. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.
