2. CARE BEFORE BIRTH
• Maternal vaccine against
rubella 6 months before

age more than 30, genetic
disease)

3. CARE OF NORMAL NEWBORN
AT BIRTH
• Wrap well in winter, keep open
when fever
• Feed the baby within 30 min of
birth
• Give only mother’s milk (not even
water) for 6 months.
• Baby passes more than 8 times
urine when milk is adequate
• Baby gains 200gms wt every week
• Sleeps in day, plays and cries in
night

4. CARE UPTO 6 MONTHS
• Frequent feeding
• THERE ARE NO ANY DROPS

• Energy comes only from
mother’s milk
• Cry is not always a symptom of

be started vaccination from birth.
• Only DPT causes fever for 2 days.
• Ask your doctor regarding never vaccines
like Hep b, Hib etc.
• Vaccines either can be given on the same
day or can be given 4 wks apart for
optimum response

• Encourage routine food and fruits
