1. el flamenco- Is a style of music and dance which is native to
several regions of southern Spain. Flamenco is popularly depicted
as being the music of Andalusian gypsies. Traditional flamenco
artists never received any formal training but nowadays people can
get professional trained.

which is in the north of Spain. Jota means ʻjumpʼ which describes
the lively, bouncy movements to the dance. The dancers wear

are local groups that have released new albums with song that can
be played when dancing the Sevillana. Nowadays, The Sevillan is
dance in clubs as well as the annual festival “April Seville Fair”.
4. El Tango- Is a ʻplayʼ made on the dance floor with a live band and
plenty of people looking. The tango is from Argentina originally but
can now be seen or dance anywhere in the world. In the 1980ʼs
Tango was really popular and radio station as well as Tango dance
clubs emerged overnight. The Tango is still popular today and can
even be seen on the TV show “Dancing With the Stars”.
5. la Cumbia- Is a Colombian dance and music style. Cumbia
originated in the Caribbean coast of eastern Colombia. In the 20th
century Colombian band leaders such as Pacho Galan and Lucho
Bermudex brought the Cumbia to different parts of Latin America,

6. Mariachis y Charros- Mariachi is the name of a band. It symbolizes
Mexico. The wear big sombrero hats as well as embroidered
“charro” outfits. The “charro” outfit is made up of high tight black
pants and a short jacket. They usually play in Mexican celebration
but can be heard anywhere in the world. In the United States many
Mariachis bands have formed.

7. The Kings of Mambo- is a Cuban musical form and dance style that
achieved developed originally in Havana, and Mexico City. The
word ʻmamboʼ means conversation with the gods. In 1954, the cha-
cha-chá , a kind of mambo, swept through Havana. Cha-cha-cha
was created by the Cuban violinist Enrique Jorrín.
8. Celia Cruz- Was a Havana, Cuba born salsa singer, and was one of
the most successful Salsa performers of the 20th century, with
twenty-three gold albums. She died in 2003. She spent most of her
career living in Nw Jersay, and working in the United States and
several Latin American countries.
9. Tito Puentes- Was a Latin Jazz and Salsa music musician. He is
best known for dance-oriented mambo and Latin jazz that helped
keep his career going for 50 years. He and his music appear in
many films one of them being ʻThe Mambo Kingsʼ.
10. Tuna groups- A University Tuna is a musical group in Spanin,
Portugal, The Netherlands, and Latin America made up of university
students. It is also known as a Tuna or Tunas. The melody is
created by voices and singing.
11. Manual de Falla- Was a Spanish Andalusian composer of classical
music. He is one of Spain's most important musicians of the first
half of the 20th century. He studied and played the piano.
12. Juanes- Is of Colombian descent. When he was only 15 years old
he founded a music group which he called “Ekhymosis” which
sang heavy, trashy metal music. He can play many instruments one
of them being the electric guitar. He released a song called La
Vida…es un Ratico which is considered one of the best works in
Spanish. He has receive many Latin American awards.
13. Marc Anthony- Is a famous singer from Puerto Rico. He began
singing salsa but he went over to singing romantic ballads, tango
and pop music. He is a world icon of Latin music. His love songs
are about his relationship one of them with Jennifer Lopez.
14. la Música Andina- Andean music comes from the general area
inhabited by Aymaras. It includes folklore music of many parts of
Latin American countries. In english it is called ʻAndean musicʼ. La
Música Andina has changed a lot through out the centuries and in
the twentieth century.

15. Antonio Gaudi- Is a famous architect from Spain. The architectural
universe of Antoni Gaudí, the Catalan enigma that came to leave
an imprint on Barcelona. He is the architect to a lot of famous
buildings in Barcelona.
16. La Sagrada Familia- Sagrada Família, is a large Roman Catholic
church in Barcelone, Catalonia, Spain. Designed by Catalan
architect Antoni Gaudí. Gaudí became involved in 1883, taking
over the project and transforming the project with his architectural
and engineering style.
17. La Alhambra- Is a palace and fortress complex constructed during
the mid 14th century by the Moorish rulers of the Emirate of
Granada in Al-Andalus. The Alhambra's Moorish palaces were
built for the last Muslim Emirs in Spain and its court, of the Nasrid
Dynasty. It is located in the southern part of Spain.

presented to the court. The palace was named after the place called
"La Zarzuela" because of the profusion of brambles (zarzas) which
