New standards will bring major changes
With an overwhelming number of states having adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS),
educators will need to focus on building the higher-level critical thinking skills that are designed to
get students college- and career-ready and are at the heart of the new standards.
The fundamental changes in the areas of emphasis for reading and math will impact curriculum and
teacher training decisions. Below are examples of changes to prepare for.
