else, had the chance to live life to the fullest. Some people overwhelmed greed are materialistic.
Others are your common folk living life like a roller coaster. Shakespeare chose to inspire and
create because although you only live once, once is enough if you live it right, and what better proof
of his success than his long–lived memory commemorated centuries after his death. In this speech, I
am going to summarize his life, his significant accomplishments, and the reason of Shakespearean
study.
William Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, 1564, in Stratford–upon–Avon England. His life
revolved around two locations, Stratford and London. William grew up with 7 siblings, many of
them having died when he was young. He attended a local public school until about age 15,
where he learned Latin, scriptures, and logic. Shortly after he was 18 in 1582, he married Anna
Hathaway. In the following years, He had 3 children, the first born Susanna, and a pair of twins,
Judith and Hamnet. Soon after, Shakespeare moved to London where he worked and pursued a
theater career possibly putting a strain on his marriage. Working his way up, he became a business
partner of a major acting company, King's Men, which allowed him to prosper financially. Finally,
at the age of 52, he died of a mysterious cause on April 23rd, 1616, but in some way, he never died.

races could be the fact that he does not ignore the issues and "tensions" between them and instead

He addresses the struggles between different colors and religions. He never takes a designated side;

Shakespeare's tragedies, his characters are noble heroes that are looked up to that are all facing

speech to Queen Gertrude he pursues to convince her that Hamlet deserves such violent punishments

The nine years between is just another mystery that nobody can figure out(Shakespeare Online,
Actor and Playwright,1999–2010 ). There is no doubt as of today that William Shakespeare is the
greatest writer of English Literature. His plays have been made into movies, books have been
written, music has been conducted and published, and if your real lucky you might even be able
to see a play of one of his greatest stories ever told; in which I have seen many movies and read

Since the lease was up, they dismantled the Theater, board by board, and transported it to build a
new theater called the Globe. The Globe could hold approximately 3,000 spectators. "A
proportionately sized theater in modern Manhattan would have a capacity of nearly 160,000."
(Senn, n.p.) Unfortunately on June 29, 1613, the Globe burnt down during a performance of
Shakespeare's play, Henry the Eighth. A cannon, used for the performance, misfired and ignited
wooden beams and caught the theater on fire. Another theater was built in its place in 1614.

composed most of this plays in the form of poetry. His poetry is wrote in iambic pentameter,
which is the most common meter used in the English language poetry. An iamb is a metrical unit
made up of 1 unstressed syllable followed by 1 stressed syllable. Pentameter refers to the number
of iambs in a line. There are five iambs in a line of iambic pentameter. The lines in Shakespeare's
work have 10 syllables per line and they do not rhyme. His plays often have elaborate metaphors
and conceits. Shakespeare's writing style makes his plays hard to read and understand if you are not
used to it.

How does one find the meaning of life? There is no map with an X that marks the spot where life's
meaning is discovered. It takes a journey to truly discover it. As they say, it's not about the
destination it's about the journey. In William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Hamlet uncovers the purpose of
life through his journey of avenging his father's death. Hamlet's compulsive thoughts toward
vengeance cloud his mind from rational decisions. His mind is clouded with suicidal thoughts which
make him perceive death as the purpose of life. Suicidal thinking is extremely harmful to the mind,

The King sent them to understand Hamlet's shifted behavior after his father's death. Hamlet knows
that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern would not randomly visit him and urges them to tell the truth
that the King sent them to spy on him. Upon this discovery, Hamlet admits to Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern that "Why, then 'tis none to you; for there is nothing either good or bad, but/ thinking
makes it so: to me [Denmark] is a prison." (2.2.236–37). Hamlet reveals that he already thinks of his
surroundings as hell. And in this hell, it becomes worse to have friends stab him in the back with
intentions of only pleasing the King rather than being a friend. His thoughts of a prison are
reinforced when learning that his so–called friends would rather be attentive to the King than kind to
him. After Hamlet decided that Denmark is a prison, in later scenes he decides that his negative
thoughts will get him nowhere, and he will not be worthy of a nobleman. Hamlet realizes that these
thoughts should not be melancholy of his life but should offer a change to it. While watching
Fortinbras and his army trek across Denmark Hamlet fathoms "my thoughts be bloody, or be nothing
worth!" (4.4.66). Instead of perceiving events as a burden, he decided to reconsider his thought

The poetry of Shakespeare is a boundless and timeless gift to mankind. It is truly hard to find a
one person who is not familiar with at least one Shakespeare's work. I think that he is the greatest
writer of English origin and one of the best playwrights in the world. I choose William
Shakespeare because, in my opinion, he is one of the most readable classics, and certainly the
easiest to understand and interpret among the representatives of his time. Wherever the fate of
Shakespeare's characters lies, their problems and experiences are universal. Shakespeare seemed to
be writing in advance so that the reader of the 21st century could easily understand the nature of the
play. It is possible that in the future Shakespeare's work will live on an intergalactic ship as well as
it did in the 16th century.
I had two groups of people to whom I read Shakespeare's sonnet "My love is strengthened, though
more weak in seeming." The chosen sonnet refers to the thematic group of sonnets dedicated to a
friend and the triumph of renewed friendship. The first group had two people. One of them was a
young accountant who is 25 years old and who was not familiar with his art. The second person of
my group was a 45 years old kindergarten teacher who definitely knew a lot about his biography and
poetry. For my second group, I choose my college peers who have heard about Shakespeare but ware
not familiar with his work.

landed heiress, had five other children. William Shakespeare had two sisters, Joan and Judith, and
three brothers, Gilbert, Edmund, and Richard. John encountered financial difficulties which plagued
him until his death (Spencer, Bevington, & Brown 2017).
There are no known records of Shakespeare attending school, but scholars predict that he most likely
attended the King's New School in Stratford. His literary work shows the mark of an excellent
