Missouri’s Regional Planning Commission’s • Missouri has 19 RPC’s • Every city and county in Missouri is covered by an RPC • Each RPC is unique and the services they provide are specific to fit their regions needs while also providing statewide services. • In Missouri EDD’s are known as Regional Planning Commission or Council of Governments

Missouri Association of Council of Governments (MACOG) • MACOG is the statewide organization representing Missouri’s RPC • Every RPC is a member of MACOG • The RPC director attends a monthly MACOG meeting • Report is provided from state partners • The RPC’s adopts Minimum Standards and financial practices for conducting business in Missouri developed by MACOG • RPC’s follows the Code of Ethics established by MACOG

MACOG Statewide Planner • MACOG contracts with a Statewide Planner which represents RPC’s • Statewide Planner works with State agencies to develop projects • Statewide Planner is the main contact for MACOG • Having a Statewide Planner enables one person to be the negotiator to work out details for contracting with all RPC’s
  5. 5. Statewide Projects Already in Existence • Missouri Department of Transportation- Transportation Advisory Committee • Office of Homeland Security – Regional Homeland Security Oversight Committee • State Emergency Management Agency - Hazard Mitigation Plans
  6. 6. Missouri’s ARPA Funding • State organizations partnering with MACOG and RPC’s • Broadband • Department of Health
  7. 7. MACOG RPC Advantage Campaign • Every RPC will assist cities and counties: • Application writing • Identify Local Needs • Research eligibility and criteria for funding • Provide administration of project
  8. 8. • When approaching state departments to work with RPC’s the message is the entire state of Missouri is covered and services can be provided state wide • State departments can have one contract and not have to contract with 19 different RPC’s to deliver services.
