2. Ground rules
◦ There would be plenty of discussions Insha'Allah.
Wherever you see this symbol ( ), it would indicate a
time for discussion
◦ Disclaimer: You may find me speaking a lot. I seek your
pardon. Pls bare with that today
◦ Please be attentive for the full duration
◦ My objective is that every attendee, after attending this
study circle, should be able to teach it to others
3. Objectives
◦ We should be able to have an idea of religion as the
Quran and Sunnah presents it
◦ We should be able to identify how iCAN can support Aus-
NZ Muslims in implementing the requirements of the deen
◦ Every attendee, after attending this study circle,
should be able to teach it to others
5. 4 out of 10 approach to religion is not good
enough!!

7. Two essential requirements for following
Al-Islam
Need to have
Iradah and effort
Need to have
Its full understanding
If you have above two, and you are making best effort, situation and circumstances don’t matter!
8. What is Deen
◦ When we ask ourselves this question, we find that we are
not very clear about this most important question!
◦ Some consider ibadaat to be the Deen!
◦ Some just consider believing to be the Deen!
Reference to verses about the concept of deen.

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Al-Islam is raised on [or built upon]
five, testifying (the fact) that there is no deity worthy of worship
except Allah, that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, and
the establishment of prayer, payment of zakat, pilgrimage to the
House (Ka'ba) and the fast of Ramadan.

Editor's Notes
Discussion about someone who does a few of his tasks only and leave other requirements of his job role
Are we really following what the deen requires from us?
When tea reached Europe, the Europeans did not know how to use it. Initially, they used to boil it and then throw the boiled water and eat the leaves.
Are we sure we are not doing the same.
It could be that what we have left is something really useful. So, we have to understand the religion in full.
O believers enter into Islam completely and do not follow the footsteps of Shaitan, surely he is your clear-cut enemy.
(Surah Baqarah 208)
Do you believe in a part of your Holy Book and reject the rest? So what other punishment do such people among you, who behave like this, deserve, than disgrace in this world and to be driven to grievous punishment on the Day of Judgment? Allah is not unaware of what you do. (Surah Baqarah 85)

He can leave his job if he wishes

Would do all tasks that his Rabb asks him to do
The slave is the property of his master
He cannot leave his work
