2. Geography Brazil is the largest country in South America and has the biggest population. Located in south eastern South America, the Atlantic Ocean surrounds Brazil. Total area of Brazil is 8, 511, 965 square kilometers. The coastline of Brazil is 7, 491 kilometers. The climate of Brazil is mostly tropical with lots of rain and flooding.

3. Geography Some of Brazil’s national resources include manganese, phosphates, and uranium. There are droughts in NE Brazil and floods in the south. Some environmental issues are deforestation, illegal wildlife trade, and oil spills. Brazil shares a boundary with every country in South America except for Chile and Ecuador. One famous geographical feature is the Archipelago of Fernando de Noronha which has 5 islands that are territory of Brazil.

5. Majority of the population in Brazil is 15-64 yrs old (67.9%)

6. The median age is 27 years old.

7. Ratio of births to deaths is 16/6 .

10. Feijoada (pictured above) is the national meal of Brazil.
