feedback and to see if you have met criteria.
• Ask at break time/end of session if you are
unsure on anything
• It is the last session next week so we need to
ensure you work is up to date.
6. YOUR HOMEWORK WAS..

We will discuss this as a group to share ideas and see
how you got on

9. Choosing which pair will go first…
• In order to maximise the feedback you are
given (peer feedback and observer feedback), I
would like each pair to take it in turns rather
than complete the meetings all at once.
• Mentees will draw a stick from my hand and
the longest stick drawn will go first
10. Is there anything you
need to ask..?
Work in pairs to discuss what you will be doing,
the observation and the criteria you need to
meet…
Write down any questions regarding the
observation or the mentoring session before it
goes ahead.
12. Before we get started…..
Mentor needs to complete…..
• 1.1 Contact the person to be mentored and obtain an
outline of the issues for discussion
• 1.2 Agree and record the time, date, place of the meeting
• 1.3 Undertake appropriate research to ensure they are
familiar with the issues to be discussed
• 1.4 List all documents to be used during the meeting
• 1.5 Prepare all documents to be used during meeting
This is all on Pg 23 of your workbook
13. Mentee….
Can look over your scenario and also your
paperwork that you have already completed
14. Observers
• I have created a Padlet wall on ItsLearning for you to
provide feedback on what went well and what could
be improved. This can be done as you observe each of
the mentoring sessions
• Leave comments on the wall for the pair to read once
they are finished – Ensure you include your name on
it
• Please be quiet whilst mentoring sessions are in
progress – There are other ways you can
communicate
16. QUESTIONS & FEEDBACK
• Any questions from Mentor/Mentee?
• Mentees to give Mentors feedback
• This can be verbally but it must also be written
feedback as part of the evidence
• Observers can provide both Mentor and Mentee
with feedback
17. HOMEWORK – Swap
roles and scenarios
• Mentees to think about and write ideas down for
the Mentor meeting next week
• Complete the paperwork for the scenario (The
Process)
• Mentors to think and write down some questions
you may ask to gain information, understand the
need and to begin building rapport with your
Mentee
• Complete the paperwork for the scenario (The
Process)
18. THE END
• Well Done
• Thank you for coming and see you for the last
session, next week!
