1. Angry eye
I have never thought about racism that deeply until I came to United States. In
my home country Venezuela we don't discriminate by the skin color of someone
because we are all mixed in a certain way, we are just Venezuelans and that’s it.
When I move to United States I found very annoying that Americans pay too
much attention to skin color. In my first year of college I leave with an Black
American girl and every time we talk I would heard her saying “black people cook
better” “black people dance better” or whatever topic we were talking about she
would say that black people is better than white people. I used to get really mad
and said that at the bottom both were Americans so I couldn't understand why
the difference. After this I start thinking and realizing that among American skins
colors was the main topic for everything, but I couldn't blame them, I start
understanding that Black Americans have to face more obstacles in life to reach
the same thing that a white American want.
After watching angry eye video it help me understand that among
Americans they judge the possibilities of being someone in life by their color of
skin and not by their person. I think this is an important video that every person in
America should watch, to realize that white privilege is something that actually
exist and that people in American are not being treated as Americans, they are
being treated as a white American or black American, something that in a country
full of “freedom” and “justice” shouldn't happen.
