In the Europa League final, Sevilla emerged victorious against Roma as Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made crucial penalty saves. The match concluded with Argentine Gonzalo Montiel securing the decisive spot kick for Sevilla, defeating Jose Mourinho's Roma. Gonzalo Montiel, the Argentine international, confidently converted his retaken penalty to secure a 4-1 shootout victory against Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The match had ended 1-1 after extra time in Budapest, where Jose Mourinho aimed to preserve his unbeaten record in European final matches.
