2. Background of our school
Pupils :
from different social classes
Various ethnies,
Many of them come from low-class families even if it is evoluating,
Some pupils face important both school and personal problems.
Major issues:
Lack of autonomy,
Lack of personal work at home and of motivation,
Absenteeism.
Language
Equipement:
a computer room with 16 computers but wifi is not good enoug.
I have my own room equipped with an interactive board. I use my own laptop.
3. Background of our school
Our secondary school La Canopée is located in
Matoury, a medium-sized town of French Guiana (one
of French oversea regions).
4. School key challenges
Motivating pupils,
Making learnings more concrete,
Increasing self-confidence,
Widening students’ minds through trans curricular
projects,

To improve foreign languages skills,
To improve skills in History and Geography

6. Learning activity 1
Realization of slides to present French Guiana to
partners of eTwinning and European projects:
Study of documents with the History and Geography
teacher according to the curriculum,
Personal research with the school librarian,
Study of documents in English as a Foreign Language
(EFL),
Visits,
Oral presentation of their final production filmed for
peer-evaluation and feedback.
8. Learning activity 2
Realization of interactive posters about French
Guiana fauna and flora:
Study of documents with the Geography teacher and
the Biology teacher according to the curriculum,
Personal research with the help of the school librarian,
Webquests in English as a Foreign Language (EFL),
Visit to the zoo.
Use of eduGlogster and ImagesActives app to create
posters.
