  2. 2. Open iMovie by clicking the icon in the dock.
  3. 3. Click File>>New Project. Name the project “Me Movie” and choose “No Theme”. Make a new project
  4. 4. There are three main parts of the iMovie workspace: Editing, Preview, Libraries. iMovie Overview -Editing Area- ! Where you assembly your movie -Preview Area- ! Where you preview your movie by clicking play -Libraries-! Where you get the components for your movie
  5. 5. There are five libraries of components for your movie: Music, Photo, Text Effects, Transitions, iMovie Slide. Five Libraries Music Library Photo Library Text Effects Library Transitions Library iMovie Slide Library
  6. 6. Click and drag from Library to Edit Space Click and drag a photo from the photo library to the editing space.
  7. 7. Add a transition between photos Click and drag a transition from the transition library to the editing space, between two photos.
  8. 8. Add a text effect Click and drag a text effect to the desired location. For an introduction, drag all the way to the beginning and choose a background.
  9. 9. Select music Click on the music library. Then, choose “iLife Sound Effects” or “iMovie Sound Effects”. Preview a sound by double clicking on it or pressing the play button.
  10. 10. Add music Click and drag a track from the music library to the editing window. Be sure that your mouse cursor is on top of a photo. The music will start where the red line is.
