Chris Casal gave a presentation about how he uses social media to tell the story of Heathcote School. He discussed how he started using Twitter at his previous school in New York City and how it has been implemented at Heathcote School. The goals of Heathcote's social media use are to give parents a glimpse of what happens during the school day, be transparent, share successes, and engage and connect with both current and future members of the school community. Casal provided examples of how Heathcote uses hashtags, tagboard, Flipboard, Adobe Voice, Aurasma, and Tellagami to involve parents who may not use social media as well as augment student learning.
