Tweet’s structure
Now, let’s see how a single
tweet is structured... You can
see image, some ‘regular’ text,
and some text that look
different…
Notice the “@”
Notice the “#”
11. 11
Hashtag #
• Finding specific content
and users
• Great way to manage
and monitor live events
• Can be use for bolding
a word
Notice: Hashtag = “#”
12. 12
Mention @
• Link to brand or person
profile
• A way to start an
engagement with one
or more profiles
• Any account that is
mentioned in your
tweet will get a
notification from you
Notice: Mention= “@”
13. 13
Image tagging
Awesome way to save characters as you tag up to 10 users on the same image!
Now, this is a powerful tip!
17. 17
Polls
Notice: Polls are great ways to engage
users on Twitter.
How to create one? Look for the pie icon
in creating tweet dialog
18. 18
DM
Notice: DM = Direct Messages. Just like
mail, just inside Twitter.
19. 19
Evaluate profile
How many followers comparing to how many followings.
To evaluate profile power: Look for following / followers ratio.
In this example, Time official profile follows 777 users, but 7.2 millions users follow Time.
Power Tip: look for those 777 and try to figure out why Time chose to follow these accounts
20. 20
Lists
Notice: Lists are powerful option to
organize your tweets stream. We can say
that lists are content filters made by you.

• Think twice before hitting
the publish button
• Check spelling and syntax
• Give credit when needed
• When sharing link – check
it’s validity
• You CANNOT make a
tweet disappear (well you
can delete it but there can
always be a print screen
out there)
• Think twice before you
start following someone
• Do not confuse between
DM and tweet
