3. What is Windows Azure? Internet scale cloud computing platform hosted in Microsoft data centers Cloud computing is considered by some to be the future of computing as we know it It can host applications developed using Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET framework Azure provides an open, standards based environment with support for Internet protocols including http, SOAP, REST and XML Other cloud apps are available for integration on Azure like Windows Live, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and MS Dynamics
4. Why Azure for you? Azure is in the process of being launched, so it has all the excitement and the bleeding edge of a brand new enterprise product It is a good environment to get familiar with cloud computing with a decent amount of detail Microsoft is helping by providing free software and resources You will also get Azure “tokens”; which allows you to host your application on the Azure platform in the Microsoft Data Centers for a limited time for free consultancy on conducting the program An exciting application development contest Possible certificate of participation (?)
