There are 4 tracks within the Communication Arts Major at Salisbury. Each of these tracks offers a wide variety of classes which allows students to fine-tune a general curriculum to their specific needs. Whether you want to be a sports journalist, a political candidate, film-maker or an international mediator there are classes available to provide you with the educational tools you will need to pursue the career you want.
Internship opportunities give students an opportunity to get their foot in the door. Students have some experience in their field upon entering the workplace.
Jobs range from accounting to all kinds of media, government or even some surprising ones like speech coach or social workers.
There are very few companies/agencies who do NOT need some type of communications experts. Ad agencies, schools, tv networks, retail stores, or even event planning agencies are just a few examples.
Students gain a wide variety of activities and skills are gained which can be used and are valued in practically any position/job.
Students also study communication across many barriers, such as gender, race, culture, social status etc and learn to cope with differences to communicate effectively and amicably.
