prolific in inventions. However, they are
not recognized for their contributions
to the world of creations.
3. LOLLIPOPS
• This candy on a stick, was developed by the
Catalan entrepeneur Enric Bernat
Fontlladosa.
• Between 1956 and 1957 he had the idea of
making a piece of candy that you could
grab with a stick (then made of wood).
• The inspiration came from two facts:
– Most candy consumers were children.
– they tend to touch the sweet with their
hands, leaving everything 'sticky'.
4. THE MOP
• Manuel Jalon
Corominas was the
creator.
• In 1956 he used a
broom handle to
attach a strip of
cotton cloth to it.
5. TABLE FOOTBALL
• Also known as football.
• It was created by Alejandro Finisterre, a
Galician who immigrated to Mexico.
• He engaged stick pins as football players. The
success was immediate.
• We should remember that in Spanish football
the players are made of metal and have two
legs.
6. SUBMARINE
• It was invented by the scientist
Isaac Peral, a Spanish military.
• it really is an innovation introduced
in 1885. The hull was made of
steel, it could dive down 30
metres.
• It was launched on September
8th, 1888, and had a range of 66
hours and 284 nautical miles.
7. THE SHARPENER
• It was created in 1945 by Ignacio Urresti.
The first model had a
weight of just under a
kilo and a half and
looked like a mixture
of a coffee grinder
and a camera.
