• Write down Tarea (HW): Complete “La sala de clases”
• Take a piece of paper from the red basket.
• Try to pronounce the word to yourself.
• Try to spell the word out loud, in Spanish.
• Spell the word in Spanish to a classmate.
• Practice until you can spell the word out loud, in
Spanish, without looking at your notes or the word. Be
prepared to spell your word to the entire group,
without looking at your notes or the word.
• Time for Para empezar: 10 minutes.
3. El artículo definido
• The definite article.
• In English = “the”
• In Spanish = “el” “la” “los” and “las”
• Corresponds with gender and number
• Masculine = el, los
• Femenine = la, las
• There are exceptions, so memorize each
noun’s article.
