Use these themes as starting points to play with light and shadow and create high
contrast and atmospheric photographs. You can use natural light (explore different
times of day) or set up artificial light using lamps.

‘Photography Influences and Skills (with your name)’ Make sure the
Powerpoint is set to A3.
2. Complete Powerpoint slides on the use of ‘Light and Shadow’ in
Photography. You can use the images on the previous slides as
reference but try to find your own too. You should discuss
photographers and individual images. Don’t forget your descriptions
and opinions are key to getting a good mark for this. You must explain
how you will use the image/images you have explored to take your
own shoot! Please use the support sheets you have at the back of your
sketchbooks (remember it is useful to evaluate a specific photograph in
depth and detail). You can also use the ‘Deal With It’ slides on the
previous powerpoint to support you with your analysis.
3. Take a shoot exploring light and shadow. Present this on a series of
power point slides including contact sheets with analysis and at least
three enlargements (if you have facilities these could be edited a little
on photoshop (no worries if not though).
