Regional Manager Safety and Environmental Services
• Managed 15 plants in North America, India and Singapore to maintain high safety and
environmental performance.
Results: Last fiscal year this team with its European and Asian counterparts achieved an
recordable incident rate of .31 and 0 lost workday cases (1 LWC in the last 6 years). No
environmental NOVs at any plant.
• Established safety, industrial hygiene, and behavior based metrics for every location so that
annual performance reviews evaluated all coordinators on fact-based data. All locations
held accountable to these metrics.
• Conducted annual safety audits (B Assessments) on all facilities in the group based on
Praxair safety and environmental standards and a 750 item questionnaire. Also provided
support to these locations during Corporate Praxair audits (A Assessments).
• Provided a standardized PST Safety Certification Training for all new coordinators hired
into the business and personally trained local coordinators.
• Provided leadership at PST Corporate headquarters for largest PST campus in the business,
directing compliance with Title V air permit and soil and groundwater cleanup activities.

employment drug screens and random drug/alcohol screens for FAA affiliated locations.

1990 - 2007 HARMAN-BECKER AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS • MARTINSVILLE • IN
Harman International Industries, Incorporated (Harman International) is engaged in the
development, manufacture and marketing of high-fidelity audio products and electronic
systems. Sales for the business in 2006 were $2.47 billion. The Company operates in three
segments: Automotive, Consumer and Professional. The Automotive segment (Harman-
Becker) designs, manufactures and markets audio, electronic and infotainment systems for
vehicle applications primarily to be installed as original equipment by automotive

Senior Manager Global EHS (Environmental, Health, Safety)
• Analyzed workers compensation losses and injury frequency data and developed long-term
data-driven plan for reductions in both costs and frequency of claims. Results: frequency
dropped 93% (500 claims to 37 claims) / workers compensation losses dropped 98%
($1.4MM to $30,000);
• Implemented comprehensive ergonomics training program, assembly line task rotation
plan, physical job station redesigns, and early recognition / treatment program. Results:
90% of all cumulative trauma complaints are effectively resolved through conservative
approaches
• Hired aggressive work comp doctor in California to reduce litigation expenses. Results:
Reduced workers compensation expenses in Northridge, CA from $1,000,000 to $250,000 per
year.
• Assisted local plant management in new facility (Franklin, KY) in setting up safety and
environmental processes. Also hired and trained safety manager at that location. Results:
Excellent young talent at that location that has achieved the best incident rate in our
business.
• Organized a senior management cross-functional team focused on reducing volatile
organics. Results: Air emissions reduced from 50 to 2 tons per year and changed the
Martinsville plant’s status from permitted to registered. Worked with California direct
report to cut the Northridge, CA plant in half.
• Project leader for ISO 14001 implementation for all North American sites which include:
Franklin, KY, Juarez, Mexico, Northridge, CA, Farmington Hills, MI, and Martinsville,
IN. Results: All sites successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification with 0 non-conformities.
• Coordinated environmental closures for sites in Huntington, IN and Prairie du Chien that
were recently sold; Supervised environmental due diligence project in a recent acquisition
in Elkhart, Indiana. Results: Documented for internal customers no environmental
liabilities in sold or purchased properties.
• Initiated health and wellness programs at 4 sites across North America. Results: Built a
300-member fitness facility at Martinsville and facilitated the construction of 3 similar
facilities in North America. Also assisted in the design and construction of a 10-acre outdoor
health park in Martinsville.
