  1. 1. Da Nang is the third largest city in Vietnam by urban population. It lies on the coast of the South China Sea at the mouth of the Han River, and is one of Vietnam's most important port cities, known as Tourane (or Turon) during French colonial rule. Da Nang's population is estimated to reach one million inhabitants by 2014
